The thing is having an increased cap isn't going to hurt anyone. Those who wish to take advantage of the cap can, and those who don't can continue to play as how they want as well.
Honestly I view thing as a open and shut case, we should as gamers be banning together to say 'Yes we want the villager cap increased', not because the individual won't need the increased cap but because others out there might.
Suppose tomorrow that 4J says lets take a vote that we will sell new block packs with some brand new custom blocks never before seen with new features on those blocks. Many would say yes, but there's others out there that's going to say nope we don't need them we have all that we need right now, is it fair that because some say no, that the block packs will fail? No its not, even if i didn't want those packs I'd vote for them anyhow because others out there MIGHT want them.
Point is even if the cap was raised, it isn't going to hurt anyone who doesn't want to take advantage of it, and thus it should be no skin off their back should they 'side' with those who want a increase. Its almost as if those who don't want a increase are looking at it as if its going to hurt them in some way shape of form should a increase be implemented.
The console version is limited, as we know, due to memory resources and the like.
If possible, I think 100 would be great. 200 would probably introduce all sorts of lag and loading problems. One also needs to keep in mind the size of the world. In the xbox edition, worlds are 1024X1024 compared to virtually infinite on the pc. So to adjust to a 200 cap just wouldn't keep in line with the size of the world. Maybe 75 would be best. If no cap increase were introduced, I would not be unhappy.
They should take away the entity limit all together. The entity limit defeats the purpose of many things in minecraft. It ruins mob grinders and animal farms. It makes the game less fun to play. I at least hope they triple the current entity limit. This would make it so the game isn't so laggy but would make a lot of people happy too.
Depends on how useful I'll find Trading w/ Villagers to be. Also, I do enjoy making civilizations. They usually feel empty since it's 8 players per world max. It'd be nice to give them a sense of activity.
I never found villagers to be very useful for trades other than using their wheat crops to get free Emeralds.

I put my shirt on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.

You obviously didn't trade much then, nearly every piece of equipment and tools can be attained by trading, both iron and diamond.
