the red box is the area where it repaints. notice the odd dots that dont belong? i understand that the map has to repaint, why does this happen if there are no changes to the map (eg: no blocks removed or added). this happens when re-entering a saved map and re-exploring it
The map is not constant. It will constantly change with each block placed/added and will constantly take a snapshot of the world. Some areas sometimes may get gibbled, its not a perfect snapshot, and this is common with everyone regardless to explore depth. I wouln't worry so much about such a small amount of detail that is missing.
The real test is, do those "questionable" pixels change/disappear when you get close to them (without changing/moving blocks)? or do they remain on your map? If they remain, then that is how the map is displaying that 8-block by 8-block space, if they do change, then you might be right, and the map may be loosing some data here and there... although those out-of-place dots look like where structures might be located to me.... or sandy areas... or possibly areas that were never fully mapped out.
eg: as you explore the fully explored map, some gray dots appear and have to be repainted. covers a small portion
