This is something I found out the hard way. I have a place set up in the jungle. Ocelots are everywhere. I had 2 chickens in a fenced pen. After awhile, I went to check on them & I had no chickens, but an ocelot was trapped in the pen. So if you have chickens in the jungle, fix it so nothing can get in - like a henhouse.....or you will eventually lose all your chickens....
Ah, i've never seen it but that doesn't make it true, guess i've been lucky, or looking the other way! My cats are usually parked up in strategic spots anyway, ie near front doors, etc
Since this post, I've found ocelots in all my animal pens. But none of the other animals were gone. I keep 2 cows, 3 sheep, 2 pigs & 2 chickens in seperate pens based on the animal type. Those animals have never despawned. Pens are under 20 blocks in either direction. After this happened, I was looking at the wiki & it says that ocelots will kill chickens & like Junokaii said, wolves will kill sheep - dogs will too. Anyway, protect your chickens, they do eat them.
One wall to my pens is a cliff wall...The ocelots are dropping in from above, I assume. I put a row of fence above on the ledge....that keeps them out, but without the fence, it's a good way to catch ocelots - LOL!!!!
