Does bonemeal work to grow plants faster? If so how?
Do coca beans dissolve in water?
Can you grow flowers?
Can you hatch chickens from eggs? If so how?
Ya know these are questions you could have answer yourself ingame, you should just experiment while playing. It can be fun.:)
Either way...
1. Hold bonemeal in your hand and 'use' it on wheat, a sapling or the ground.
2. No.. they do not dissolve in water. They are beans after all..
3. Yeah.. Use bonemeal on the ground and it will grow grass and flowers randomly.
4. Hold an egg in your hand, and throw it. There is a 1 in 8 chance of a chicken hatching from the thrown egg. A stack of 16 eggs should net about 2 chicks on average but sometimes you can be lucky or unlucky.

...and by "The Ground", he means specifically a "Grass Block" (a dirt block with a green grass top), does not work so well on Tilled dirt blocks, regular dirt blocks, sand, stone, mycelium, etc.
...also works for growing mushrooms, pumpkins, melons, cocoa pods, and should be able to similarly impact carrots and potatoes when they are implemented in TU14.
I thru 5 eggs, no chickens do I quit - guess I'll have to throw more.
I have a cocoa bean farm setup. It's 7 block high X 7 wide jungle log wall. Water is released to harvest them & flushes them into a chute. They ALL disappeared when they hit the water. 49 cocoa beans - gone. Tried it several times - same result - GONE!!
I tried the bonemeal thing & it didn't seem to work. I may have been trying on a dirt block or positioned wrong......
but I did try them, they didn't work, so that's why I asked. I always try stuff first before I ask questions...

Yep. Or just breed two chickens using either seeds or netherwart.

In this particular case, yes! Water will destroy the cocoa pods. If you want to make an effective cocoa bean farm try placing sticky pistons behind the jungle wood wall. By moving the wood with the pistons the pods should pop off.

Yeah, it will only work on grass or certain plants. Make sure you are pulling the Left Trigger to "use" the bonemeal.
I wondered about the cocoa beans. Saw a video for xbox about a farm like this. His worked so he could harvest the beans. When I did it, they disappeared. With the changes that are made from updates, one never knows what will be in the new ones, that's why I asked. & yes, I look at the dates on the videos. I try to stay away from older ones. I'll try the pistons instead of water for harvesting. Thanks Deskepticon!!!
So I assume then that what dissolves them is the water WASHING over them, not them floating in the water (water moving them to another point to be picked up). When I used the water harvest. you can see them in the water that washes them off but then they disappear when they hit the water that moves them.....so I wasn't sure what was killing them.

Correct. I should have probably clarified that point. Water will destroy the cocoa "pods", but once they become cocoa bean "items" water can be used to push them around just like any other entity.

If a 'block' 'breaks', it will usually drop an item of some sort (often itself, but in some cases, other item(s)), but when the block is 'destroyed' it doesn't drop anything. Water will break some blocks, and destroy other block... but at no point does anything really get 'dissolved'.
dissolved - disappear - break - kill ...same difference. When I think of cocoa, I think of hot chocolate....that's why I said dissolve....geeessss.....

Can also be used as a dye or a dying ingreniant.
