Sorry, this is a really inane post and it's probably already occurred to people to do this but...
I tend to play MC alone on survival. Last night I was running backwards and forwards between an area I was mining and the place I was building. They are quite a distance apart. Then it occurred to me that I could use my other game pad and have a guest profile waiting for the delivery to arrive at the build site via minecart. That way I can just flick between game pads.
Something else has just occurred to me as I write this...we don't have hoppers in the 360 version, so I could just use the guest profile to stand under my mob spawner trap to collect the loot!
Those are some pretty crafty tricks! The only downside to using a guest account as a means to automatically collect mob grinder loot is that the mob grinder would suffer in performance, as the game would be trying to spawn monsters around both you and the guest account, as opposed to just the area the grinder is in.

good point actually, that never occurred to me. As it happens, i'm not having much luck with mob traps lately anyway. If anyone saw my other thread about it, I was having difficulties getting things to spawn. So I followed some very good advice from people and built a really nice one. Nothing spawned in it at all. The reason? I built it too bloody high! Back to the drawing board!

Ohhh.... BTW.... make sure your MOB spawner is under Y=128....
