Across the vast endlessly generating Seeds many villages of intelligent beings called Villagers live in harmony with the Seed. They exist as one with the Seed tied to its life force just as the mountains and caves that pepper the landscape. However nestled in a remote area on the outskirts of the world known as Arendiel, is small village with only one inhabitant. Its name is villager; the last of a once great people.
We set the stage on an ordinary day long ago. The villagers went about their daily jobs, none realizing the weight of the events that where to follow. Sometime shortly before nightfall a strange creature emerged from the forest, the likes of which they had never seen before. He bore a strange marking over his head and moved with purpose. Exhausted he entered the village and went to the headman asking if he could stay the night. Although reluctant at first the headman saw he was in need and agreed to let him stay through the night. The next morning the creature emerged from one of the houses and went on his way. No sooner had he left strange things began to happen. It began with the villagers finding themselves unable to produce offspring. The next day the Headman disappeared. His disappearance was followed shortly by a few other members of the village. Hostile mobs began spawning during the night and the days where plagued by unending rain. One day the creature returned to find that only one villager remained. Heartbroken he mended the village and built a wall around it. To protect it from mobs.
The lone villager can still be seen walking the streets of his deserted home. However this tale leaves many questions unanswered, did the creature kill them off? if not, then who? How did this come to pass?
...good point...I guess its up for interpretation...if bad things happen blame herobrine?...maybe I told it wrong (watch seedlings(not that it relates to this)) ;panyways all that aside its told from the perspective of the NPCs to attempt to explain what happened it my main world, after all I dont believe mobs are suposed to spawn far from human players are they? or can you just not see them untill you are a certain distance from them.
I can relate... I visited 2 villages... and both ended up being virtually totally depopulated shortly after my visit, despite my efforts to keep them populated... I traveled to my third village with a lot of doors and torches, and filled the houses with doors and put torches everywhere, so we'll see if that helps. I want to repopulate my other 2 villages, but I'll need to kite some breeders over to them....
Same thing happened to me. A bustling village, go back some time later, 2 villagers & iron golum left. I start building more houses, fix up the place - the golum & 1 of the villagers left.....so now only one guy. Sometimes he follows me around & watches me work. Othertimes, I find him standing on a hill, looking off into the distance....what gives??? Perhaps like Columbus.....we took a virus to the village & everyone got sick & died.....
I generated a new world to see.....it has 3 villages so far.....I put torches all around...most of the houses had no doors....one village was sitting in the ocean with no walkways....I fixed them up...created a iron golum for each.....we'll see what happens. If they survive or not.
Iron Golems spawn naturally in villages, provided there are 10 villagers and at least 21 houses (counted as doors). It is possible for Iron Golems to spawn in player-made villages. The chance of spawning is 1 in 7000 per tick which averages around one every six minutes.
The golems can be crafted using blocks in a similar fashion to Snow Golems and Withers. To do so, the player must place 4 blocks of iron in a T-shape, and place a Pumpkin or a Jack-O-Lantern on top. The pumpkin must be placed last. They will always spawn facing south. Iron Golems cannot be manufactured by a piston assembly line without player(s) interaction. Players should not manufacture Iron golems next to a wall because it may take suffocation damage and die. Players should take note that Iron Golems, like Snow Golems, cannot be crafted in a crafting table.
