Around November of 2013, I purchased the mass effect and skyrim mash up packs and also had just purchased minecraft so I knew nothing about the game or any of the features for example when starting a new world to choose creative or survival at the time I didn't know what differences were that being said when I was trying out the mash ups by accident I ended up choosing creative for the worlds and now I'm unable to receive achievements or leader boards when i play those worlds...
NOW that I've gotten a bit of experience with the game from creating my OWN world in minecraft I'd like to go back and use the mass effect and skyrim mash ups and be able to get achievements ad leader boards so is there ANY WAY POSSIBLE to reset them so that when i choose them I'll be able to choose which game mode I want ? Or is it stuck permanently on creative??
also yesterday I noticed something strange.. I tried reinstalling the content but now it doesn't show up at all.. so I have two issues that need addressing.. please help... its too bad that i cant call mojang for tech support by the way I called xbox support and they directed me to here.
You can create any new world with the mashup pack in survival and/ or apply the texture to any of your survival worlds and the leaderboards and achievements will still be active in those worlds. However, the pre--built mashup pack worlds (e.g. Mars base) have the leaderboards and achievements disabled from the start because the developers have used creative features to build those worlds. For example, there are a ton of diamond ore present in the Mars base and has not been mined from the underground of that world (i.e. extra diamonds).
You can change the game mode from creative to survival or from survival to creative anytime you load any world. Just highlight that menu and press A to toggle the selection. If the world has been loaded and saved even once in creative mode, however, the leaderboards and achievements will be forever disabled for that world even if you load it in survival. However, block mining and other features will play out exactly the same as if the world had been left in survival from the beginning.
If you've accidentally hidden the option to creative a new mashup pack world (i.e. the one with the Mars base or Viking villages by hitting the RB while on the load screen), then you can "show all" again "Help & Options" and then "Reset to Defaults" (at least it's what worked for me this morning when I intentionally hid a mashup pack world generator)... although I can't explain why the "Reinstall Content" option wouldn't work (since it seems more logical that the option would be there to just show all the MUs and TPs without disrupting your other custom settings). By using "Reset to Defaults," you will have to manually reset any gamma and other game sensitivities and control preferences back to your liking.
* You can choose between survival or creative at the time you create, or each time you load, the world, so you can switch between the two modes as often as you want by just reloading the world.
* There's a warning on the screen that changing/loading a world in creative, or if it ever was in creative, will disable the achievements and leaderboards.
* The only way to have your achievements and leaderboards is to keep the world in survival only. Never change that world to creative- even once.
* Sorry, there's no way to 'reset' a world. You'll have to start a new world (in survival) if you want achievements or leaderboards.
As for the mashup packs, I have no experience with them, so I'll let someone else answer that part.
