I forgot to set my match to disallow randoms to join my game, so some idiot friend of a friend joined my game and for some unknown reason, spawned villagers and dog eggs in the jungle, and now they're running wild, and I'm trying to despawn them which is taking forever. I've found a few trapped in a hole underground, and some dogs were found far across different biomes. The reason why I'm doing this is because I'm trying to contain a high population in my city. I also spawned a villager in my house and it went missing, is there a way to quickly find them all? If I put it on easy mode to spawn hostile mobs, would they despawn all of them or do I really have to go on in a grid search which could take days.
Certain MOBs don't... or at least, shouldn't... despawn to include: villagers and tamed ocelots (cats) and wolves (dogs).
Passive MOBs should not despawn if they cannot move more than 20 blocks away from their current position (sheep, cows, pigs, chickens)
Other MOBs should normally despawn if they are more than 128 blocks from all players in the game (unless named, and anvils haven't been added yet to the 360, so this shouldn't be an option).
There is no easy way that I know of to locate all the villagers (or any other MOB) in the game. There are ways to find them using a hex editor in the saved game file... but that is neither easy nor pretty...and arguably not allowed under the Terms of Service Agreement.
On creative fly high up and take those damage throwing potions and spamn them around your world on peaceful... that should kill unwanted villagers roaming around

Unfortunately, carpet bombing won't catch those that are under cover (under leaves or under ground).
