I have been getting a freezing problem, and it stopped happening so frequently but still freezes at some point. What should I do? I have deleted and re-downloaded minecraft and it still freezes. I really want this fixed cuz when the new update comes out i want to be able to enjoy it. So any good advice would be very helpful. I am up to date with all the updates. I don't have alot of maps. I'm not sure what started it or what i'm doing wrong...
Adding to Urban Blackbear's list, freezing issues also seem to commonly occur when attempting to leave the End, when maps are placed in item frames (although this is listed as having been fixed in TU13), large animal farms in a small area, and there seem to be a number of people who have trouble with freezing issues when playing online multiplayer.
I think the bottomline is that Minecraft is a game that is taxing the Xbox 360 to very close to it's hardware limits and this makes the game more susceptible to freezing from a VARIETY OF DIFFERENT CAUSES. The cause of your freezing may or may not be the same as the cause of another person's freezing.
1. Keeping your Xbox and controllers clean and the Xbox itself well ventilated and in good repair will help ensure that it can run at it's maximum efficiency.
2. Try some different things inside your world (e.g. like removing maps in item frames or minimizing redstone lighting updates) to see if you can isolate the cause of YOUR freezing issue specifically... rather than wholesale deletion and reinstalling of the game (which, judging from numerous posts, seldom seems to solve anyone's issues anyways).
No other game is freezing.
And i have started new worlds, And it will freeze in the middle of a build survival or creative.
It just started doing it. I have had minecraft since day one, never had this problem Its been about a week since it started.
I have now Cleared my cache cuz thats what people on reddit told me to try. And its still freezing. I'm really not sure what to do. I'm worried i will have to delete all my minecraft stuff and start over. Or just go out to like gamestop and get minecraft retail disc and see if that fixes it. Idk.
I'm truly not sure. I had one for along time and it RROD on me randomly, And i had a warranty so i traded it in for another.
I'm hoping it's not this xbox i just got. Would suck to have to get another.
No idea really. MC is a very taxing game for the 360 as has been mentioned. If there was a game that would stress a defective 360 it would be MC. I'd check for excessive heat or the HDD making clicking noises when it freezes.

To the best of my knowledge, clearing the cache does nothing for performance in Minecraft. I don't think Minecraft is really using the cache for much of anything anymore (changed about TU9). I am wondering, however, since there has been a real rash of people posting about freeze-ups lately (see Help & Support section)... and I haven't personally had my Xbox hooked up online for quite awhile now. Was there, by any chance, a recent update to LIVE? If so, it may be suddenly interfering with Minecraft.

So the problem is likely your xbox itself, or your world is corrupted in some way. Try a new world, just to see.
1. Too many signs/item frames in one area
2. Too many chests in one area
3. Redstone contraptions causing too many lighting updates.
Not sure if any of these are causing your issues. More details on how and when it's freezing would help.

How old is your 360?
