Not sure if this is already public knowledge, but it didn't come to me naturally on how to figure this out. Aside that, I've seen a few forum posts now about "counting from the bottom to find the current level number".
Step 1: Get yourself a map!
Step 2: Pay attention to the Y number. That's your current level. To get the most out of mining, be sure to mine on levels 10-15.
**once again not sure if this will actually help anyone, but hey, information is information..**
Very, very basic knowledge. But nevertheless, a good refresher! It's so handy to have because it helps mark where a chain of particular ores may be located, and is actually a smart tool for knowing just how deep into the ground you are if you need to escape via the ceiling (which is not entirely the greatest idea of escaping, but hey - it works).

For sure! Just throwing the information out there for anyone who needs it
Based on the other topics that are posted in this section, there are a lot of newbs. So, this will be a very great topic that will come in handy to them.

I'm relatively sure this was covered in another topic because I had no idea either but it turned out to be eye level.
If the xbox version is anything like the PC version, It's the foot level.
I'm back!
