It has recently come to light that not alot of you like to build in a survival setting. Most of the posts I come across are all creative mode builds. Giant citys, etc..
Would it be worth my own time creating some tutorials and suggestive content for you guys to get more inspired to build in a survival world?
I play in one world right now, non-creative, always on normal. I'd love to see more people like myself, but I guess some people just don't like gathering supplies etc.. Hopefully some of you are interested.
I'd love to create something for the X360/minecraft sub as it's not as popular as the PC/minecraft sub, and I feel it has tons of room to grow into something more.
Any feedback welcome, and for now, keep building! (:
I play a non-creative map too, but since some time on hard only.
Since the Xbox version is basically only an old PC version, I watched the "Minecraft Tutorials" by paulsoaresjr and other videos, e.g. Man vs. Minecraft, too. http://www.youtube.c...326EF82122776A9
(While keeping in mind that not (jet) everything is implemented in the Xbox version.)
What would you do different then the other tutorials about the "old" minecraft.
Well, other then higher production value and very focused production. Would help clear up tons of confusion with some builds. And help have a standard of efficiency between farms and building in general.
You're totally right that it's just an older version of minecraft. But, not alot of 360 users see it that way. The same reason some actually search "Xbox 360 Minecraft" etc..
Inspiration is a resource every Minecraft player needs every one in a while.
We also happen to have a subforum tailored to the type of content you're thinking about making, so it'd certainly fit!

Il be sure to post whatever I create there. Hopefully someone picks up on it, will be spending more then 5 minutes on this if you know what I mean
I like to play both creative & survival. Usually creative if I'm playing with my kids, because they like to fly. Otherwise, I only do creative for redstone testing.
If I'm playing solo, I prefer survival, on hard. I've had several huge builds, farms, castles, mansions, landmarks, cities, etc... Survival is a lot more fun.
I have no personal preference on survival or creative. I specialize in highly efficient farms that are 'tied' together, meaning that all goods from farms are brought to a central collection area so to speak, with the collection area being more a control room for starting/stopping/harvesting said farms. Farms don't need to be massive in size to be efficient however they do require a lot of careful planning on outside environments, such as completely stopping all mobs from spawning within the farm areas which is no easy task. The sad part is most of my builds do require ice, which does mean breaking into creative right now, but that should change once we get the next update.
I not only try to create efficient farms but I try to make them look very nice to the eyes as well as fitting the theme of the map which can be a huge challenge in itself.
I actually usually play on survival, as I prefer building with what I mine out. Those mined out areas can sometimes give inspiration for other things, so in a way creative wouldn't be able to do that. Even though most times I am found on easy or peaceful, I still play on survival.
I do use creative for testing however; usually redstone and design concepts. Building in creative I find gets boring after a while...More reason I build in survival, as there is more to do...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

Same here... Although I haven't tried Hard mode yet... I may give that a go, but I like the relaxing build with the occasional minor hassle that Normal Mode offers. I'm more into building that surviving....
