No, it has nothing to do with money. But rest assure I most likely make more money than you, if you're even out of high school. And that's not being vain or an attempt at bragging: I'm going at that based off of the average dollar per hour wage made in America and comparing it to my own. Assuming you live in the US, of course.
No I was not being serious as I'm sure the average person can afford a $3 texture pack but I'm curious to know why you think that texture packs should be free just because the PC version have free texture packs. I can see why you would think it's unfair that Xbox users have to pay where PC users don't however that's just the way it is and there is no use complaining about it.
I don't see that as being vain or bragging given that most people try to big note themselves over the internet knowing that the user on the other end has no way to call them on it however I am out of high school (have been for going on 5 years now) and I live in Australia on a wage of $57 000 a year before commission as I work in the IT industry for an IT re-seller as an account manager.
I'm not whining...? I don't even own Minecraft on Xbox 360...
I'm not understanding the point of this conversation... as stated above... you don't even own an xBox. Well I do, and I don't mind the DLC fee associated with the TP's. Why do you even care if you don't even use the 360?
What are you even talking about? Who said ANYTHING about not being able to afford it?
How...was...that...my...logic...in...anyway?
People, people: I am not comparing Xbox 360 Minecraft and PC Minecraft. I am saying that you pay for something on Xbox 360 that is the same exact quality as something that is free on PC. It doesn't make sense. I could understand if the texture packs they offered were amzing, 256x arts of work. But they are pretty much the same as any other Skyrim, medieval, ect. texture pack you could get on the PC version of Minecraft. And there have been plenty of addons/bonus downloads that have been made free on xbox 360. Why cant they just do that? Are they really trying to make money that bad? It's not like they are even worth the 2-3 bucks.
Just my opinion. No need to take it personal.
Trolling? There have been innumerable threads here trying to promote the PC open-source modding model here on the Xbox forum by people, like you, who don't even play the game on the Xbox. It generally just amounts to baiting people here into an argument. There is a place for open-source modding... and that place is on the PC where things are less regulated and there are fewer very young users and more programming-savvy teens and young adults. Microsoft has controls on the Xbox environment in part to keep the environment freer of viruses and ID theft attacks. IF amateur programmers want to try their hand at writing PC TPs and such, they are free to do so on the PC solely because Mojang allows it. IF they want to do something similar on the Xbox, it requires that they become legally authorized to do so by the companies involved - ie. Mojang, 4J and Microsoft. I say, good luck with that.
I own an Xbox 360; I've even played Minecraft 360 before (It wasn't mine, but there used to be this cool exploit where if someone who owned it signed on to your console and downloaded it you could play the full game for free), but I've also seen addons and stuff like that released for free on Xbox 360.
Why couldn't they have just done that? That's what I'm trying to get at. I'm sure they're making tons of money off of the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft. Why sell something that's par quality.

They have released some free TPs as well as DLC where the proceeds have gone to charity. As to the quality of the work - that IS merely your opinion. As someone else said, just exercise your opinion by not buying what you don't want to buy. Me (and quite a few others here) seem to be quite willing to part with a $1 for these TPs. In any free-market system, any seller is free to charge whatever the market will bear and they are also free to stop producing them if they start losing money on the ventures. The PC TP makers voluntarily forfeit their right to charge directly for their work when they register with Mojang. That is also their privilege to do so in a free-market system... and again, let's not forget that many of them do make money off of advertisers on their website and that the consumer is always the one who ultimately foots the bill for everything (including advertising costs).
What I don't understand is why some people assume that something should be offered to them for free for ANY REASON.
ClaytonRISING I didn't realize the world was required to provide products and services to you for free. Is there somewhere that I can sign up for such an awesome deal? I want the same one you have where you still get paid more then the average American?
Seriously though, you want something from someone, either a product or a service, expect to pay for it. If you expect it for free then the world has the right to expect products and services from you for free.
I like how you guys are taking this as a personal insult and getting offended.
Alrighty, then lol.
Hrm... so you are admittedly trolling... interesting. You clearly don't own MCX360, you don't sound like you will, you seem fine with your PC version, but you seem to also derive some pleasure from trying to stir up trouble and offend people.
Well, if you don't want to pay for the TP's you certainly don't have to, you still can DL the trial versions and enjoy the TP's in other peoples worlds, or even take a look at it before you decide to purchase... you just don't have saving rights to your game if you use the Trial version of the TP in your own worlds unless you purchase the full version or save the game with a different TP loaded that you already fully own.
If you don't like it... oh well, what can I say.... you aren't even playing MCX360 anyway, so it really doesn't affect you.
Also, 4J does offer free TP's from time to time as bonuses as well, so they don't always charge for this DLC. some times they pay significant sums of money to be able to provide us (the MCX360 community) with content that is free to us (yes, it costs them to produce it, publish it, and post it).

I like how you seem to expect that companies owe customers who admit to stealing from them service. LOL I now think you're just whinging about because you can't figure out a way to steal the TP too.

Answered your own question in the first sentence.

Forum AdminEveryone's opinions have became clear. To keep this thread from just circling itself I believe it's time for a lock.
