I built Panda's enderman farm and flooded the entire end as best I could. (Still finding little pockets I missed that have about 8-10 enderman in them) But I built it 128 blocks high and only get about 15-20 enderman every 30 minutes on Hard. I've checked my redstone and have nobody stuck on pressure plates or anything like that. Anybody have any ideas whats wrong?
When you say you built it 128 high, do you mean overall or up to the old height limit?
As of now nothing spawns above Y=128.
Other than that, keep looking/listening for Wark-warks around.
At what level is your 'kill' platform? It sounds like a portion of it is above y128. For my farm I picked the shortest side of the island, and put the farm off the into the void. If I recall correctly, I put the platform at y7 or so. And I did flood the entire island. While lighting the island is indeed easier, I don't think it's nearly as effective. Getting 100% coverage is just as much of a hassle as flooding. Once I flooded the edges of the island, the rest went rather quickly. Flooding large semi flat areas is reasonably quick and easy. It's conditioning the entire island that's very time consuming. Either way, it's a personal choice.. I prefer flooding the island as annoying as it is.
I'm purely guessing.. but if you built your kill area at y60ish then only about 4 layers of your farm would be valid spawnable spaces. This could be the reason -if- that's how you built it.
My kill level is 71. Thank you guys for your help. I will be moving it and hopefully get better results. Will let you know what happens.
In my opinion the best way to get to the lowest level in the end is placing lava and water 3 blocks away from each other and cobble forms all the way the the bottom. Just a tip I wanted to throw out there.
Has anybody already done the math on how many spawning floors(pads) are a reasonable number? Considering spawn limit and XBox peculiarities?
I built my farm just last weekend and followed Panda's design as instructed by docm on youtube. However instead of making my kill floor 17 blocks long I made it only 9 blocks long (to save resourses and because I didn't like having to walk in such a big circle to kill all of the endermen in the farm). While I have not timed myself, I'm sure that I can hit level 30 in less then 5 minutes and this more then satisfies my needs. That being said I built about 19 spawning pads (all that I could fit)
Also I've noticed that some people only flood/light the top of the island in the end when building their farm. Just a reminder that there are tunnels, caves and ledges in and under the insland that must be flooded/light as well.
Using an xray machine/glitch will help you find pockets of Endermen. Like PixelDaises said, there could be lots of hidden areas under the edges of the island or even in the middle. Fortunately the Endermen's eyes kind of glow so they are easy to see from a distance using the xray.

hi man, i can show you, my ender farm, work very well, I can be lv 30 in 3 min or less.
I have a problem with them spawning on the presure plates. They just don't and I'm not sure why. Xbox 360 edition .If I leave the half slabs off the top the walk over and fall in and get pushed over but none seem to spawn if the slabs are on the top. I have not seen one spawn on a plate. Any ideas?

You need to be 24 blocks away for mobs to spawn, they will spawn on pressure plates, as I use it in nearly all my hostile mob farms. My guess is your too close for them to spawn, but its just a guess.
We took the hard route and blew the entire island up using dropped TNT off scaffolding, took 4 of us over a month to clear the island. The main reason was we wanted an enderman farm that was much different then what most build with the plate/piston, so we opted for a different design. This design includes 4 platforms for endermen to spawn on, that uses minecarts to trigger a shifting floor causing them to drop 40 blocks. Once there they find 2 snowmen waiting who instantly start chucking snowballs at them, the endermen will then teleport to a center island where they are compressed a bit and sit ready for us to safely make the killing blow. Not sure who the original designer is but it works well, and its unique.

(Also, lighting up the End is a lot easier.)
Stay fluffy~

Good luck.:) I hope it works out.
