Maybe the questions should be "Is the ________ rarity different than in PC than in xbox?"
Probably, maybe even by design, but I don't know which way.
They don't have to be the same, you know.
(If I'm short of ______ I just pop into creative and get all I want anyway).
I was once told that the calculations on the Wiki were done by individuals experimenting and extrapolating data. They are expressed as averages (i.e. over a large number of chunks) and are distributed randomly and unevenly... so, for example, there is certainly no guarantee that you will find 3 or 4 diamonds in every single chunk on the map in either system. It would take someone mining everything out of many, many chunks and keeping a record of the ores found, but I don't think anyone has bothered to do experiments on the Xbox. I see no reason why it would be different though.
But to answer your question: I doubt it. As UpUp said, I also see now reason that they'd be more or less common.
Maybe it's just luck, but with Fortune III I've found 53 Diamond Blocks' worth on the 360 in my TU6~TU12 world, while about 40 on the PC one.
I wouldn't say this is any proof as it's comparing only two worlds, though.
