Just outta curiousity. Is the skyrim mash up pack gonna be released at midnight? and if so is anyone buying it? I've been waiting on a good new mash up pack since the natural one came out
I think I'll save my money this time and wait for the next Mash up pack to come out, it's not that I don't like Skyrim it's just i'll most likely never use it.
What's the next one gonna be? Judging on how often (or unoften) they release them you could buy the skyrim one now and whatever the next one is when it comes out. Anyway, if someone wants to start a survival world w/ me using the skyrim mash up pack just lemme know. Im usually on alot.
One thing I didn't like about the MassEffect texture was that they severely redefined what block was what, such that some parts of the natural world didn't look "natural" because those blocks were repurposed.
Whereas, the Natural Pack, left everything the same, just made it "better"
I'm hoping Skyrim doesn't radically re-purpose the common blocks (like coal), but we'll see.
For myself, I don't do that because I have 2 xboxes with 2 different users. I carefully manage who buys what and downloads where, to control the initial licensing
Plus, it'll take 2 seconds to buy and download on the xbox directly (it's right there on the home page of the dashboard). it'll take longer to get signed into xbox live.com...

Purchased this without going with the trial. Should've saved my $. To be honest, after going with the Natural Pack... this just looks like crap. My old world really looks 100x worse. Don't think I can go back to 16 bit texture pack again.

What if you're not home and want it really badly? And don't want to wait to get it. Might as well do it on the GO so when you get home surprise it's done and ready to use(:

Sorry to hear that. I suspect, like the MassEffect pack, that it works best if you build with it in mind. That block repurposing problem again, where the blocks you might use in the original texture to make a nice house have completely different meanings. So all existing stuff probably does look "off"
Plus, they really should have followed the theme of the natural texture pack, instead of 16 bit.

If I'm not home, then I can't use it. So buying it before I can use it means I've spent money before I needed to.
I never let my emotions take control of my wallet. If markets are in place (like X-Box Live Marketplace), I have no need to buy a product until I actually intend to use it. this keeps the money in my account longer. In a more extreme case, imagine I just bought a $60 game to auto-download in the morning while I am at work (assuming I am going to play it after work).
Then I get a shredded tire during lunch. I need to buy a new tire, which is not cheap. Now, I am regretting spending $60 on something I did not need and could have delayed buying, as I have a higher priority to get my tire fixed.
As a general rule, if you do not need it, do not buy it until you are actually going to use it (within the limits of availability, etc)
The main advantage to buying from the web site is that your xbox may download it before you arrive to play it. That time savings may be worth it for some people.
But never fall into the psychological trap of thinking you need something that is merely a want, and giving somebody else your money before you really have to.
I'd buy it but I no longer own an Xbox 360 or Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition. If they do decide to come out with the Skyrim Mash Up Pack on the Xbox One Edition though, I'll get it then. However I doubt that is going to happen.

I'll try the demo before I buy.
I built a village using primarily sandstone and cobblestone, as well as basic wood. It just looks like crap. Truly horrible. It doesn't even have to do with textures not matching it's purpose... that's usually wool anyways.

Unless they have some higher resolution texture packs, I'd pass on a Skyrim Mashup on the One.
I downloaded the trial, and the world is neat. One thing that bugged me though was what they made the different armor and tools look like. Iron is daedric, which outside of dragon is the best armor/weapon in the game. That annoys me some.

I will probably get this one.
