I recently bought and downloaded Minecraft on my Xbox 360 and have NO CLUE what version I am playing in order to check updates. I have tried Google Search on this and came across TONS of versions and don't know which one I am playing! PLEASE HELP!! And thank you
I wonder why I'm typing here, since I have no xbox. Anyway, I think the version is displayed on the bottom left corner of the menu screen, or somewhere else close to there.
For the xbox version... If you have updated through xbox live, then it should be TU13.
It doesn't really show what version it is right away like the pc version. Might be in the about part, unsure of that though as I don't have my xbox nearby at the moment.
The true only way of telling is generating a world and if there is jungle, you at least you know it was TU11 or TU12 I think.
EDIT: Actually just checked and there is no way to check what version it is.
So that means most likely, assuming it is updated all the way, it is TU13. Otherwise the only way is stuff easily noticeable in the major updates and even smaller things in the bug updates. That would take quite a bit of cross referencing in what you have and don't have.
If you were trying to get a pc reference, that would not be a good idea, since there is a lot that was in a way pulled forward from later updates. However it is roughly 1.2.3 with some things from later updates in that respects. Another reason why people usually refer it as TU# as xbox edition is its' own development path in a way.
Not 100% sure if this is true as I'm not near an xbox, but I believe if you go to 'What's New' under 'How to Play', I think it tells you what update it is.
TU13 is what I was thinking also. Under "What's New Menu", it doesn't say which version I am playing. It just says "Title Update 13". Thank you ALL so much for the feedback. I am going to look into version TU13 and see if I am playing that version.
Tamorr is right- xbox updates (TU#'s) do not follow PC update numbers because each xbox update includes some of this, a little of that, and not all of the other. They really do follow different upgrade paths, so trying to compare them will drive you nuts. (In other words, xbox TU______ does not equal PC update ______.)
If you "recently bought and downloaded Minecraft" don't worry, you have the latest xbox version and you'll be notified of the next one when it becomes available.

wondering where that was...><
Wasn't in a very obvious place, as I thought that section as to how to play the game. Didn't even dawn on me that would be in that section... Thanks.
And if it does say TU13 then that is the version. Well the version the xbox goes by. Although the wiki is somewhat accurate in the xbox development section.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

So.... it does say that you are playing 'version' TU 13 (where TU = Title Update)....
