I was hosting earlier today with 3 other players. One of them was a snotty 7-9 year old.
He asks me for some Iron, I gave him about 15 ingots.
Later on, he asks for some Coal. I give him a stack.
THEN he asks me if he can have some food.
I told him that i didn't have any. Then my ears began ringing.
"W-W-Why can't i have any food? whaaah.."
I told him that il just go get some, but he wouldn't calm down. He began to threaten everyone and crying.
"Im going to kill you n' take your diamonds! Whaaah!"
He began swinging his dinky Iron sword at me. So i killed him in one hit with my Stone Sword. (he was starved near death anyway)
After that, i kicked him. But he came back. now he is stealing my items.
I really didn't need them, But stealing is wrong and should be dealt with punishment.
The kid built a shoddy 7x7 wooden shack on a hill. So while he was there, I walked into his house and started asking for stuff. "Hey can i bum some wood? i need some Charcoal." "Oh hey can i take some cobble?"
He got fed up and tried to kill me again. While fighting, i managed to start a fire w/ Flint and Steel and burn him to death, And now his house is burning down. His whining was giving me a headache. so i simply said
"Maybe you shouldn't get mad over virtual things." and left.
So now i ask. How do i prevent these babies to join? They really ruin the game when they beg and plead and cry.
we should also have this option on the forums, heh heh heh.
but yea like others have said, set it to invite only, uncheck friends of friends in the options. its a good idea to vet players have a short term area where they build and see how they act.
where it me i would of kicked him the second he started whining. if he's playing the game he should learn fundamental survival skills within the game.
Don't add them on your friend's list, it's your fault for everything he did. You added/accepted him. You let him on your world. You didn't deal with the problem as soon as it started.

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
Did you really have to make a post about this? I mean.. Really? If you have been playing this game for a short amount of time you should online you should know about clicking 'Invite Only'. You had to see it at least once.
This just looks like an attempt to start a negative conversation with you at the center. This is a problem you could have solved on your own easily without a forum post. As other posters have mentioned more politely, it appears that you are the only one with an issue.

1. Invite Only... and don't invite him.
2. Uncheck and "friends of friends" option and delete him from your friend's list.
3. Play offline.
Now, if only this site could stop the "older" cry babies from coming on and whining incessantly about 7-9 year olds.
THIS^
Indeed.
I'm not quite sure why the OP didn't simply mute, kick and block the offending player instead of escalating it.
You can't know who's bad before hand, but once it starts, it is a simple matter to eject them rather than continue to interact with them,
