Has their been any discussion or conversation about expanding how many people can be in a MCXB360 server.
If so, what did they say and when can it be expected. If not is it possible, not just that 4J would do it but also that the xbox can handle it.
that would be down to the host internet, just like it is now and not the console
Actually it won't.
Microsoft added over 300,000 servers to Xbox Live in preparation for the Xbox One. They have unveiled in the last week or so that EVERY multiplayer game will have DEDICATED SERVERS. That means no one will be hosting games on their consoles anymore like things like Minecraft and Halo do now. Everyone will connect to an offsite server run by Microsoft.
And before anyone asks, no that doesn't mean you can rent your own server or anything. It just means games will see a drastic drop in the amount of lag that plagues current gen multiplayer.
They've also said over and over that the game is pretty much at its limits when it comes to the size of the world and the amount of players. They can't expand if they don't have the power or memory to do so, which they don't. The Xbox One Edition will have larger worlds, more multiplayer options, and most likely more players. They've already said that when it was announced.
