As someone who likes everything to be neat and symmetrical and even-looking, MC is great in that it lets me dictate what everything looks like, from my front lawn to the basement under my house. That's a great deal of freedom.
So as you can imagine, my OCD kicks into overdrive when I see there's a block missing in the ground or wall, and I think -
The worst part is, they dont drop the items they pick up when they die, so I have to replace it myself! -rage-
It kinda sucks, because there really isnt any kind of defense against it.
endermen and creepers were griefing before it was cool. dang hipsters....
funny story i actually had a bunch of enderman grab mushrooms from around my base in the end, they then took them up top and dropped them, i thought nothing of it i used bonemealed giant mushrooms to stock up and just had the others in case i ran out for any reason. well i went up and turns out a huge chunk is covered in mushrooms, apparently endermen got green thumbs. plus they look adorable carrying flowers around. makes you almost not want to kill them..... almost.
they dont seem to spawn very often in the overworld, in fact it took me a week to get enough ender pearls to make the eyes of ender required for my end portal.
there are actually a few measures you can take to protect your base and surrounding area from them, iron golems destroy them, they cant spawn when its lit up (you probably knew that though) and they hate water, cant move through it, cant touch it, and cant teleport through it. (side note not related at all, my computer doesn't recognize teleport as a word, though i believe it can be found in most dictionaries, it also doesn't recognize golem, but an old Hebrew word for a magical creature is slightly less surprising.)
Personally... I hate creepers more than endermen... endermen do minimal damage to surrounding structures and landscape, while creepers create this huge crater that needs to be filled... and there are never as many free flaoting blocks to pickup after the explosion as there was originally before the explosion.
That being said... I have a bit of OCD too, and it drives me nuts to be walking along one of my builds to find a missing block here or a misplaced block there... I had an enderman flood my underground farm once, my only consolation was that knowledge that he had to be standing right in front of the water out flow when he removed the block and likely got a face full of water. Makes me chuckle every time I think of it.
"Doh, Dee Doh... hrmmm this looks like an interesting unassuming block that seems alone and needs a home... I'll just pick it up and...."
<Spary>
"OHHH DEAR GOD!!!! THE WATER!!!!! IT BURNS!!!! IT'S EVERYWHERE!!! HELP ME!!!!! I'M MELTING!!!! I'm melting!!! Oh... what a world... what a world..."
If anything should be bothering you it should be the fact that, When endermen hit you, its like getting hit by macho man randy savage
Lol, that's true, which is why i never aggro one unless I have armor or a diamond sword.
"Juggling" them with sword strikes seems to be the best way to avoid getting hit.
Hrm... I generally keep my eye on places that have 2 block clearance (like trees with a low leaf foliage) and bodies of water... stare that the enderman to agro him and bring him to me and then nip at his ankles.... Otherwise, I generally just avoid eye contact.

I'm guessing he means a realtime week.. I've experienced the same thing. On my current minecraft survival world, when I started out I wanted to kill the dragon quickly, but I was stopped in my tracks because Endermen decided to be scarce. I would go out to the plains or desert and only find one or two a night. And yet, after all of that.. I found one outside my base stealing a melon and stomping on the stem.

A Minecraft week? Or a week?
