Ok, Since my XBL account is suspended, I can't take live pictures so, bare with me here because, I had to use my laptop to take this picture.I Don't own a phone or camera atm.
So, as you see in the picture I have 2 spawners in 1 room, lucky me right? It normally takes me
about 10mins to get Lv30 EXP from Lv1.
Would it be better to destroy one of the spawners and use ethos grinder?
I've never used a grinder before and not sure how effective they are.
Heres ethos grinder
Just tell me what you think would be better in the end
i cant stand ethos grinder. the step down no redstone required grinder, and you can funnel them all into one. i wouldn't destroy one of them since basically they will generate constantly until they reach the map cap. having 2 doing the funnel you can go AFK let it prime thenkill them in the kill box, it takes me about 2 mins to hit level30 with mine, that is of course after i let it prime for about 2-5 mins.
I really like Etho's blaze farm design. I can understand some people might not.. It's resource heavy. The redstone behind it isn't complicated but it's not simple.(Although I get the impression that the Redstone isn't why Killenjoke dislikes it.:)) Also the Blazes sometimes will take their time before funneling down, but I don't see this as something that can be helped.
I've used Etho's design, and I've seen a couple videos of people that have adapted it to a spawner set up like you have. They basically made it wider, a rectangle design rather than a square. Funneling them into a center area in the same way Etho's farm won't be hard.
I did a quick search, and only found a couple videos.. Most people aren't lucky enough to have them so close, and have to make separate chambers for the spawners. You'll be able to get away with one. Not a small project for sure, but definitely worth the trouble. Whatever design you go with, don't destroy one, when done you'll spawn blazes twice as fast. It'll be the best xp farm you can get before a well built enderman farm.
Don't let this put you off though, a blaze farm is defintiely something worth building, glowdust and blaze rods galore
its also fun trying to build it in hard mode when all the nasty mobs are trying to stop you.
peaceful would ruin the fun of building it..
This... When I built mine twice I hit accidently Zombie pigmen while breaking a block. They always seemed to get in the way.
Doogal is very likely right about the spawn rates.. I completely overlooked that the game would be checking a fair amount of the same space for Blazes. I would still say it would be slightly faster.. Due to the game checking twice for spawned mobs. Meaning if one spawned a single blaze, the second spawner -might- spawn the remainder up to the limit. This would be slightly faster due to a more consistent number being spawned, but not twice as fast as I said before. Still it will be nice.. and unlimited glow dust and rods to boot.
Would it really be twice as fast ?
the reason I say is because the spawners are close enough together as to affect the spawning rates of each one.
if spawner A spawns 4 blazes then they could be within the vicinity of Spawner B so spawner B may not spawn or only spawn a couple of blazes.
usually the spawners dont activate at exactly the same time so there is a chance that it may not make a huge difference if you can get the blazes far enough away from the spawners quickly enough before the next spawn cycle.
I have triple spawner traps setup before (not for blazes, was Cave spiders) but the spawners were more than 8 blocks away from each other but close enough that I could activate all 3.
I would also say Ethos (or similar) design is probably the most efficient for blaze farms. the pistons are there to ensure both the blazes funnel to where you need them and also to move them down as quick as possible to prevent intefering with spawn rates.
may be expensive in resources but then again, so is a decent enderman farm.
in fact I would say I used a whole lot more resources on my enderman farm than a blaze farm.
as renegade says, the enderman farm is the best you can get, as it doesnt rely on a spawner activating it works so much quicker and since you do not need a crusher mechanism , then new endermen dropping are also 1 punch kills, basically almost non stop endermen killing.

yea because the area it registers is only 3 blocks away, as long as there ar no blazes in that area it will produce more. thats how the funnel works.
if you drop the floor below the that spawn area restriction then they wont interfere with the spawn rate at all. ethos design is only slightly more efficient than that of the funnel design i use. and it requires no resources. you just have to dig it out. it super easy to build and is very affective.
the enderman far is the best, but it is extremely resource intensive, you have to either cover the entire end in water or light it up, you also have to kill the end dragon, well its not a necessity but it makes your life a lot easier. the end farm is only good if you can effectively nullify enderman spawning outside the spawner. and then of course theres all the resources. pressure plates, pistons and repeaters along ever block of every spawn platform. their great for hitting level 30 but honestly by the time you've built one that effective do you really need it?

If XBLA version of Minecraft follows the same rules as the PC version then it will check within a 17 wide by 17 long by 9 high area with the spawner in the center (or 8x8x4 radius from the spawner) for mobs of the same species as the spawner. Providing there are fewer then 6 mobs of the same specis within the zone it will spawn a mob within half the distance of the checking radius.
What this results in is that with two spawners of the same species near to each other there will be zone that mobs WILL count for BOTH spawners. If not handles carefully they will severely impact the spawn rates.
I would recommend working out where these checking zones overlap and ensure that mobs are being funneled out of the trap as fast and efficiently as possible.
Furthermore a mob spawner will continue to pump out mobs, in this case blazes just as normal so long as you have pushed or funneled the mobs out of the spawners checking range, and provided that you are within the range of the mob spawner to keep it active.
Ethos design is perfect. It quickly pushes mobs downwards and away from the spawner, though it has some issues with the killing chamber, mainly in that its too small and as a result mobs are often shown glitching through the walls and what not.
He should be able to 'adapt' ethos design somewhat to fulfill his needs, and in theory be running possibly 2 kill chambers or 1 kill chamber twice as fast as one.

that sounds good to me
