how many times have you repeated that? I have lost count
I haven't. About 50 actually (although a lot have been deleted). I only say it so much because of all the people who are too young to have a decent memory (I have a perfect memory, I actually have a disorder where I can't forget anything, give me a date and I'll tell you everything I did that day.) to actually be able to remember that these are two different games so they keep trying to compare them.
Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
im gonna go out on a limb and say you dont have a job. by that logic its safe to assume you've never seen the inner workings off a business, but within that small inner circle of people who work, and are associated with businesses (share holder. etc). the consensus is that when you put work into something you should expect monetary compensation in the form of the coin of the realm.
The disorder didn't develop until I had a sustained memory (when I was 3, on June 16th, can't tell you time because I didn't know how to tell time and I didn't even see a clock all day)
The plastic pack cost me like 60 something pence ? Your seriously complaining about spending that sort of money ? You need to get a grip, how will you cope when you have to pay rent and bills ?
It cost 2 bucks if I'm right, I have no idea what "pence" are.

Most people who ask what why we have to pay are too young to be in the workforce.

the exchange rate fluctuates but its close. its .74 euros. one of the more valuable currencies in the world economy and would be 11.13 Seychelles rupees one of the least valuable. lol.

The texture pack cost $1 (plus whatever taxes are applicable in your local area), so you're probably right that you actually paid about $2. Pence (Stirling) are actually British pennies (under their old monetary system); and, as Cherry_Sparkles correctly indicated, 63 of them are currently equal to a US dollar (and 85 of them are currently equal to a Euro). Currently, 63 pence are 0.74 of a Euro. The texture pack cost Cherry_Sparkels 64p or 0.75 of a Euro or $1.01 US.
Where the hell do you live that the sales tax is 100%??
I paid a dollar and six cents.
I said probably where HE lives... I was just trying to work under the assumption that everyone posting above me was being correct in some way and not exaggerating. My main point was that many people probably did pay more than $1 US and that British pence are more equivalent to pennies than dollars.
i get why we have to pay for these, that is not my issue.. i picked up the pack last night to be able to play with some friends. when i finally got in, i asked them, "did i just pay a dollar to remove all of the texture from the blocks?" i get the response, "yeah, pretty much."
after playing with my friends for awhile, i felt like the artists got sort of lazy with pixel arrangement and said, "this could just be one flat color and i would save myself some busywork... oh wait, it's an ore, let's add 3 more flat colored spots. good enough for gov't work. i think it's beer-thirty." i can use the fill tool in MS paint, maybe there's room for me on staff at 4j. this should have been called a "textureless pack". the portal effect is the only exception i make to this diatribe. it looks like someone spent some time to get that effect looking good.
why do you need to own the pack to play with someone else who is playing with it? $$$. the game is identical.. it's block textures that are being referenced on the local machine that make the difference. meh. this is a scam to sell texture(less) packs.. want to play with your friends? "today, that'll be a dollar."
it worked on me once, but not twice. next time i'll know to tell my friends, "hey, switch out of that, it probably sucks anyway if the plastic pack was any indication." and they'll likely say, "yeah, pretty much."
if the textures looked like someone had spent time on them, i would have been much happier with the purchase..

There is absolutely no reason for you to be unhappy with a purchase... just try spending some of your own time trying out the free trial pack and if you don't like it, don't buy it. There is also no need for you to buy the texture pack to play with friends. You can play with them using the trial pack. Since the host is the only one who saves the world, the host is the only one who should need to buy the pack (and only then if he/she wants to save the work done in the world by everyone).
I'm sure if 4J could it would be free, but Mirosoft tends to be greedy. Mirosoft and 4J are companies who use their time and resourced to create TPs on Xbox, where as TPs AND Skins are created by the people on PC. If Mojang created them you would have to pay for them, how else would they make money. It could be worse they could be expensive.

Also Snyder, tell me exactly what you did on June 7, 2004 between 3:15 pm and 6:45 pm

I was drinking since before you were born....
and I'll probably be drinking after I bury you.

Because you're not a leech, that's why. And it's $1, dude! You could find that in a walmart parking lot!
