Torort nailed it. The PC and XBox versions of MC each have their own strengths. I play both of them myself. I like the split-screen multiplayer on the XBox, and, well, the fact it's somewhat simpler then the PC version; it's great for when I just want to relax with MC. I like the larger words on the PC version and the additional items (I keep agitating for them to put hoppers in the XBox one; if they do, I'll be playing that a lot more). When you consider that you can buy both for the cost of a typical new-release game, and you'll be playing them for years, not months, getting both is actually not such a bad idea.
And, yeah, check out our Multiplayer sections. That's where you'll find the server-related threads. We have plenty. I know, I move them there on a regular basis.
* The PC version doesn't have a tutorial. I pity someone just getting the game. For a game as complicated as this one the absence of a tutorial is totally unacceptable. You're dumped in a huge world and those just starting out have no idea of what to do unless they read the wiki or watch some 'let's play's on youtube (and good ones for the beginner that actually teach you how to play are very hard to find). They not only don't know what to do, they don't know all they can do.
* The PC doesn't have easy crafting. Without referring to the wiki over and over and memorizing recipes you're screwed. With the PC the beginner has no idea what all they can craft, much less what they need to do it.
True, the PC version is great…. but only after you spend several frustrating weeks or months learning it. (And no, it's not fun 'discovering the game on your own'.)
I see the PC for the medium-to-advanced player and the xbox version for the beginner-to-medium player.
They aren't meant to be alike- they're designed for different target audiences and markets.
I started with the XBox version, and about a month later I got the PC version as well. I'm very glad I did it that way, instead of the other way around! I was much better off, skill-wise, on my first MC day on the PC than I was on the XBox. I knew what I needed to do, and how to do it. This is despite the tutorial on the XBox. It's useful, but I moved on to the real game very quickly, and had to learn a few things the hard way.
But, as Geneo said, they're aimed at different markets. In my case, they're aimed at me at different times. Sometimes I just want to relax and kick some creeper ... um, well, they're kind of square and columnar, but whatever they have that can be kicked, sometimes I just want to kick it. And sometimes I want to work on something more elaborate and technical (not that the people who build the amazing stuff I goggle at in the screenshots and videos would consider it elaborate!) and have the wider range of tools and materials to do that on the PC.
Basically, it's not accurate to say that either is better than the other. They're meant for different people, or for the same people at different times, and each does its job quite well.
I have both xbox and pc. But I like playing PC version. Though, sometimes I can't cause the PC version lags so bad on my computer. So I play the xbox version so I won't experience lag.

Does anyone play factions or anything on xbox? lol if so I wanna join
I understand. I've tried working for months on factions and minigames, but all of them missed one thing: command blocks. I can't set spawn, give players rights, or teleport. How horrible.
"I hate how the PC version is so far ahead of us." Ok, good point. Let's occupy Wall Street.

Although my MCForum is SoarvivalistGizor, I usually go by SlabGizor117 or Slab. I made this account back when I was a fan more of Paulsoaresjr, rather then Etho.

The first time I ever played minecraft was in alpha. I have grown to be a very advanced and skilled player. I rarely play vanilla because I prefer modpacks such as hexxit and tekkit. When I played xbox minecraft it was really boring to me. So therefore you probably should play xbox first.
See the multiplayer section. You may have to adapt to a slightly different style of faction play. If that is impossible for you to do, then I would recommend you restrict your faction play to the PC. I hate how people are so intent on forcing the Xbox 360 up to the level of the PC that they are eventually going to lag the Xbox 360 version of the game down to the same levels as many of them complain about on the PC.
I hate how PE is so far behind the 360...yeah, no.
I use the PC for more single-player oriented games (Hexxit, SSP, adventure maps, etc.), while I lean more towards the multiplayer aspect of the 360.
The PC's multiplayer has far too many idiots for me to even bother, and finding a server with no people that would annoy me would be too...annoying.
I like the constricted number of players for the 360--this allows you to get to know the other server members a little bit more (usually) instead of being paranoid of 250 others potentially doing whatever they want to everything.
Also...less hackers.
For the last time, this is Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, not Minecraft: On the Xbox
They are two different games, and since after TU14 or so we will be going or OWN way, the real question is,
"When will PC catch up with xbox?"

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
I hate how i have to open my PC and manually turn it on... First World Problems effect everyone once in there life
And i also hate how people complain about the littlest things

why would that be the real question? In any way I can see the PC version behind of the xbox (other than the controller).
But as you said, it is MINECRAFT XBOX 360 EDITION, not Minecraft on the xbox
why would that be the real question? In any way I can see the PC version behind of the xbox (other than the controller).

When is the PC going to get the realistic Enderdragon that shoots purple fireballs at you and breathes Ender Acid on you instead of just ramming you? Or iron bars around the Ender crystals in the End to stop people from taking them all out with just a bow? And you'd think by now they'd have added the Nether and End music. Obviously the PC is falling way behind.
But honestly, neither version is ahead or behind, because neither version is any less Minecraft than the other. And saying one is behind is implying that it is supposed to match the other one exactly, which is not, nor will it ever be, the case.
For factions/clans etc. check out the MCXB360 Multiplayer section of the forum.
There are plenty of people looking for people to play online with.
