Okay I've been searching for a method to trap all the animals in the overworld with no success. Heres the problem, animals tend to spawn under my castle and their cries annoy me, the baaaaing and mooing. Also I have flower pots in many areas of my castle and since I play in creative mode when I try to kill them I usually end up destroying a few blocks and it's just getting on my nerves. Basically I'm thinking in order to trap all the animals in my world and prevent others from spawning is to build a pen and spawn as many as the map will allow of each type, then have a friend kill all of each type and as he kills each one I spawn a new one. Does anyone know if this will work or know of an easier way to contain/trap all animals in a world? Thanks.
I had a problem with animals getting in the way while I was playing in my redstone flat world so I did what you are thinking. I went to a far corner of the map, built a pen, then spawned as many animals as I could. I flew around for a bit killing everything I saw then spammed a few more eggs. I still get an occasional animal but it isn't nearly as annoying as it was in the beginning.

Animals spawn on grass in the correct biome. If there are caves under your castle you could remove the grass or pour several buckets of lava in them and the animals will walk into the lava and kill themselves.
Well considering my first job when I was 12 was in a slaughterhouse. And working in my aunt and uncles butcher shop, I think it's perfectly normal. ;-)
I know where your coming from. I refuse to give my dog rotten flesh because it is rotten. The only sheep I kill are the first three to make a bed. With that said. Cows, pigs, and chickens are food. They are meant to be eaten in the real world or minecraft world.
Any animal I see,I kill no because I want to but because I get hungry real quick in minecraft. And real life..

If I divide them up in separate pens, say 5 cows, etc. to a pen would that reduce the lag? Also thanks for the reply.
