I recently purchased the mass effect edition of Minecraft for the xbox 360. There is a precreated world on there that looks just like Mars. Does anyone know if there is a way to use any seed to get a world with the same red soil(stone)just void of all the prebuilt buildings etc?
If so please tell me how. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. This has been driving me absolutely crazy trying to figure it out.
That'll get you rockets, the ability to build space stations, and the 1.4 version gets you to the Moon. The newer version adds Mars and several other moons around the solar system.
You won't get the buildings unless someone puts the texturepack together and builds the base piece by piece, unless the pack is made available to PC MC. It probably won't be free, though. I understand that the xBox pack must be purchased to download.
So disappointing. I wish I would've had my new PC and purchased Minecraft on there instead of the 360... Just don't feel like paying for something I own again.
There is a way you can get the ME World to generate without the game generated structures (i.e. villages, mineshafts, and stronghold). It's a bug... Generate a random seed in ME textures with "Generate Structures" toggled off. Then exit and save that world. Then immediately generate a ME world.
However, you will still have the Mars base structures that were manually added by 4J. There is no way to have the ME world generate without those that I've found.
Another alternative is to just generate the seed 44545356565 in ME textures in creative mode and lay down endstone over the central desert that generates. What 4J did to generate the terrain was just change the sand in that desert to endstone (probably with an edit command in their development kit). This does have a drawback to it in that it has made sand pretty scarce on the seed overall. By laying a layer of endstone down over the desert in the seed, you can get the Mars look pretty quickly and still have ample sand in the seed for making glass structures.
