Put so much effort into one world, then sort of get tired of the world/lose motivation to try something new on it, and want to start a new world but you have absolutely no motivation to do something bigger and better, so you're stuck on you're "rut" world?
Water is the leading cause of this for me and it's redstone destroying POOP. Any motivational speakers on this forum?
Yeah, that happens to me a lot (when I still played XB minecraft)
Playing with my friends is a big motivation for me to get up and actually flex my building muscles. It's fun playing with them, but making a city with a new town hall/currency/homes and plots for out group of friends gets kinda old every update.

i feel the majority of people who "get tired" of their world are people who only play solo
i take breaks from my main world (which i have been playing on for a year) but i always come back strong with a laundry list of things to add/see get built

yea i get bord lose motovation evey time i turn mc off
Just need to find new things to do/build/try out. I'm always discovering new things, or new ways to use old things. Recently, I've been playing with TNT. I had avoided TNT altogether, thinking it's way too destructive to be used in any project I cared about. It turns out that destroying my big buildings and contraptions is a lot of fun, as long as I exit without saving when I'm done. So I've been learning a lot about the behavior of TNT--how best to demolish something with set charges, and different cannon designs. What happens if you line several mine branches with the stuff, then set it off at once? Oooh! The underground looks very different afterward.
So yeah. Finding something new to do is key to continued interest. Otherwise, just take a break, go play Diablo 3 or GTA V (soon!). Come back to MC with a fresh perspective later.
Disclaimer: If you try this, TURN AUTOSAVES OFF! I don't want anyone complaining to me later about how the game autosaved after they bombed the tower that took them 6 months to build, and ruined their life. Backups are fundamental too.
Last update, cleared out a huge chunk of ocean. Had a huge sand generator, with some pistons to move it around. I think I had cleared out about 12 chunks. Luckily, the area had very few caves, plus several slime chunks. I TNT'd the earth under the water once it was gone. Pretty good little farming area.
This time, I'm going to plug up or clean out a 144x144 corner of the nether. I really want a gold farm. I tend to focus on the tedious jobs, and just make big ugly machines. I can't make anything look pretty if I try, so I don't bother.

I play with two or three people, they all have their own thing on my world and such. But I made the mistake of trying to make a a redstone contraption right next to this deep water hole which I've been trying to cover with dirt, but it's probably as deep as, I don't know, MY SOUL, so I'm just annoyed with it haha. I have this problem where once I get set on something and it fails x100 I hate everything.
I've been feeling like this increasingly. I've just gotten back into MC after a long break (although it was mostly due to lack of internet), and I found that I did things in a certain way- I had a system for farming, mining, etc. But now I'm back into it because I've found that I can do a lot of those things differently- more effective, faster, with redstone, etc. I find that much of the thrill of MC is the creativity aspect, when before I only played for challenging myself on survival -which if you haven't done, I highly recommend it. Try living completely underground, and going to the surface only for seeds and pigs to plant and breed underground. Or on a multiplayer server, try having a secret house with a complex way of discovering it. It's more challenging, which makes it different, which makes it interesting again.
Lastly, look online for cool things to build and make them better. I saw a pumpkin patch maze someone built and made a complex Labyrinth because of the idea. You'll never know until you try doing something else.

Yeah, that makes sense. I, myself, went to school for an architecture degree, so I try to stay as creative as possible when it comes to houses in the game and stuff. I even built a massive volcano which I now sort of hate (lava isn't nice). It's just a matter of doing something new that I haven't thought of before. I'd make an automatic farm but everyone has those and I enjoy farming cause it gives me SOMETHING to do. You know? Just a matter of getting inspiration. Maybe I'll build a giant slime.

Read all of your posts in this thread and I swear you're my brain twin, without the a-hole gene.

You could also try playing with a 3 year old who loves using TNT. Spend four hours building an awesome house, go grab a snack, come back to ruin and rubble. Awesome.

You know what? That's actually my favorite. One time this guy joined my world, killed me and my friend and took my house apart all while I was gone for five minutes. It was so nice of him.

We should be best friends.

LOL. I play with some 30 year olds that do that.

I keep autosave on for every fifteen minutes because bad things happen to me in between those fifteen minutes.
