Recently, there has been a new Snapshot with PC that includes some new biomes, new world generation option, new items, etc etc. Although I'm getting way above my head, with the current Xbox 360 coughing and occasionally dieing I think that these new additions to the PC version would be impossible to add. One specific feature is an amplified world. This makes your mountains reach to the height peak. The problem is, they are CPU intensive to load and if these we're to be added in the seed generation the Xbox would probably crash when loading.
Some new biomes, like the unnamed "Roofed forest" and the Mega Tyga are more things that the seed generation would have to load. This would cause some other smaller biomes, hopefully the desert and snow biome, to fit these 2 new ones in. While I was unsure at first if the inclusion of the Jungle Biome would mess up the seed generation, I was wrong and it fits in perfectly with the world even if deserts seem bigger in my opinion. But anyway, if these new biomes we're added then smaller biomes would have to be generated for the new ones to be included due to the world size.
The little features, such as new flowers can be implemented, but I thin when it comes to seed generation we've basically hit a brick wall in the Xbox 360 Edition. The only things I see possible are Witch huts and Desert/Jungle Biomes on the surface and emeralds underground but new biomes seems impossible. If 4J can do it, great. If they can't, I guess we really are going our own way from here. Whatever the decision, I hope the best for this game.
Not only it has come to a point where it cannot catch up, it has come to a point where playing it is a total waste of time. This version is only about will, will not, can, cannot dos. I want to make a very big underground build but theres no Book and Quill for my library, no customizable flatland...
Why am I not aleadry playing it on my computer that can run this game easily? Between you and me, playing this game alone is a bit depressing. None of my friends even want to touch the pc version.
Looking forward to what content will be on the next-gen version.....
It is not meant to catch up. Hence the minecraft xbox360 edition. See. Different. Minecraft.... Minecraft xbox360 edition. Different. Want p.c. stuff? Go buy it!
You wouldn't try to catch up to a Lamborghini in a Model T, but that doesn't mean that people can't enjoy driving the Model T every bit as much as the Lamborghini. All it takes is not putting all your energies into focusing on catching the Lamborghini and enjoying the scenery a little bit instead. If all you really want to do is catch a Lamborghini, the most assured way of doing it is to buy another Lamborghini and drive it.
In short, if you want to play PC Minecraft, your best bet is to buy a PC that will run PC Minecraft and play on it.

Why would you even create a thread about "catching up"? It's been stated that 4J was going their own way after TU12. By the basic definition and a little common sense, that would indicate that there is no intention to "catch up" to the PC version.
