It doesn't matter if I've built a lot or not, when I am in Nether the game will freeze for a split second, every 5-15 seconds. During this time, everything stops too.
While this "frame rate drop" or "momentary freeze" happens, all action is halted. This is a problem because you'll have to re-mine something, or finish turning around (half the time I don't know what direction I'm facing after it happens, I have to re-coordinate myself, distracts from what I'm doing), or fall off a cliff thinking you walked that small amount of space when you didn't. It's really frustrating, especially in the middle of combat. It makes avoiding projectiles harder, or you end up mining blocks under a farm, or opening and closing a door too many times or not at all, which can be a real problem when hostile mobs are around and you need every bit of dexterity to get done what you want.
I've had no problems in the nether on the xbox. I'll tell you what though, on the PC I average about 90 FPS with some adjustments but once I load the nether it drops to a solid 10 So I mean, it could be worse.
Yeah, it definitely could be worse. But there is this hitching (momentary freezing) in the nether, even in TU11. Not as frequent for me as for the OP, but it's definitely there. I have not been able to isolate a cause, or find a workaround. It hits unpredictably, and seems unavoidable if I stay in the nether for more than a short portal-hopping trip across my world. This did not happen when the game was new. Something somewhere along the update line introduced it. The hitching only happens in the nether. The overworld is quite smooth, except in my busy, animal-laden farm area. And even there, there is no hitching. Only a lower frame rate.

Please fix!
