45 exp isnt that much it would be like mining about 10 coal. if you mean 45 levels of experiance idk standing in front of a mob spawner isnt much fun :-/ but it would be a cheap way to do it. so either way would be fine. Making your own enchantment would be difficult for the coding though.
Well i perfer the old one because i save in frount of my enchament table and then just pick one... if nota want i'll just not save it and then reload... and like that i got 4 GREAT ENCHAMENTS

Yes, we all do that. And since we all do that in order to select the enchantments that we want through trial and error, why not simply allow us to select them in the game?
I'd definitely stick with the current system. I just don't see where the fun is in being able to pick your own enchants. Not getting the enhants I want only inspires me to go get more materials in order to try again, so the way I see it, there's not much left to do if you're going to give yourself U III E IV F III/ST diamond picks, S IV, L III, FA II diamond swords, and P IV diamond armor w/ FF IV boots and an AA, and R III helmet every time. It's also more satisfying to get a really good enchant that way. One time, I made three diamond chestplates, put level 20 on all of them, and got fire protection III on all of them. It made it a lot more satisfying when FINALLY I got my Protection II the fourth try.
I feel the same way about XP grinders, too. It's like, what's the point of anything else giving you XP if all a person is going to do is stand in front of a spawner?
I agree with Chicka; and think that they put in this idea, they might was well get rid of enchanting and XP altogether and just add really expensive Fortune/Silk Touch picks, etc. to the crafting interface. There would also be no need to eventually add enchanted books and anvils... and it would all be less fun.
The current method encourages EXP grinding because of the possibility of getting really crap enchants at level 30.
This assumes that developing traps for mobs is not intended to be part of the intellectual, puzzle-solvingl aspects of the game. I would suggest that developing a better mousetrap is very much an acceptable part of playing this game as it is intended to be played. The game is meant to be something more than just another hand-to-hand combat game.

It would cost you 45 EXP points
and the old enchantment system would
no longer exist
I guess the real question is
which system would you prefer?
enchaments:
silt torch 1( 2 others fortune)
effecinsey 3
unbraking 3
sword:
sharpness 3
looting 3
fire aspect 3(not sure)
