I am having an issue trying to grow jungle trees. I am putting 4 jungle saplings in a square but they are not growing when I plant in the jungle biome. They grow fine in other biomes. Is there something I am doing wrong? There is also nothing blocking their growth from above.
They need at least three blocks away from the saplings of a clearing and a perfect amount of light. For it being such a thick biome, they are quite picky.
I grew one just to see it out in the open. After several in game days, nothing. Saved, ate dinner, and when I reloaded there it was, all growed up.
Yeah not only are they fickle just to grow, that take a while to grow naturally..>< usually no more than a few in game days though, if over that then you know there is something blocking the setup, whether it is that tall grass or another block.lol

"In order to grow a 2x2 jungle tree, four jungle saplings must be placed adjacent to each other. For growth to succeed, there may be no blocks adjacent (even diagonally) to the north-western sapling (which is considered the center of the tree) up to the final height of the tree, as well as no blocks 1 block away except at the same level of the sapling (even diagonally)
2x2 jungle trees will not grow within two spaces of the trunk of another 2x2 tree directly north and west direction of the existing tree. On the south and east directions it will not grow within 3 blocks."
