So I just wanted to have a little Discussion about our current skeletons
(For those PC Users who get lost in the MCX360 Section, This isn't PC)
Anyways, Our current skeletons (And I'm talking before TU12s AI change)
seem a little...Stupid? I don't know. It seems like their not as dangerous as they
should be.
Skeletons are probably the only mob in minecraft that is 100% sure
to hit you if you're using a sword. Everything else Creepers,zombies, endermen...
SPIDERS! Lately spiders have been messing me up xD. They seem to jump attack
more than they did before...Either way, you can still kill them before they bite you.
So yeah...What do you guys think about our current skeletons? You know what I think?
We should bring back those 1.5 Skeletons >:3 Those things were monsters. Wait...
was it 1.5? Which TU was it when skeletons had that massive shooting speed?
It seems all the mobs got a little stupider with the AI update...
But the skeletons are hardly a threat unless they are taking pop shots from a ledge you don't immediately notice. I can now charge a skellie and kill it before it even makes a second shot (and the first shot can be easily dodged if you do a zig-zag jump manuever when charging).
One thing I did notice is that skelletons can seemingly shoot through a corner... but that doesnt do much for them
I play Xbox and PC versions of minecraft and the skeletons in Xbox are quite predicable, which makes them almost harmless. I know 4j is apparently going their "own direction" with minecraft now that they hit the 1.2.3 update equivalent, but if they decide to update the skeletons AI to be like that of current PC skeletons then you can expect them to be the most dangerous mob to fight. In the PC version it almost seems as though skeletons have rapid fire which makes getting close to them a pain. They almost always kill off my wolves, especially the one with enchanted bows.
I don't know which changes exactly were made to the AI, but I've noticed that skeletons often will stop chasing you once you're outside their firing range. And I'm not talking about the times when they get stuck or something. I'm talking about a more or less perfectly flat area like in a desert or in plains, they're shooting at me, I run away a bit, and they just stand there. They're still tracking me because they will keep facing my direction, but they're not shooting anymore (out of range) and don't advance towards me.
I would like the skeletons to be harder because since I have started finding diamonds and all kinds of things lately, the game is pretty easy and I'm not challenged by the mobs.

But once you get Iron armor
and a diamond sword, mobs become somewhat
of a joke. Only thing I come close to dying by
is an Endermen, Blaze or cave spider
I think when skeletons got their first AI change, on the pc, it was so they would be able to see you above/below them, if I'm not mistaken. Later came another update that totally re-did the AI to where they can track and find the best possible route to get to you. Just hope that update doesn't come to the xbox anytime soon, lol.

Agreed. We need more dangerous mobs. An Endermen siege would be a reason to hide!
Just stare at an enderman's feet when you hit them and they're less likely to teleport....I don't even find them a problem anymore. Blazes are a pain when you fight them for the first time, but after you make fire resistance potions they're nothing but good Xp. I wish they would have brought forward the wither....killing those skeletons can be a challenge to get the heads. Then again they are three blocks tall so they are easy to kill if you build a room two blocks high and have them chase you into it. Then they just sit outside, easy money. Mobs just aren't are problem if you know how to fight them. We need some new mobs, I would love some Xbox exclusive ones....but that'll be a long ways away if it ever happens.

The only thing I can think of it that hopefully if they do add some of the things from the pc version that tango with mobs, then I could only hope that it is implemented right, unlike what they did on the pc version; What I mean by right is Scaled to difficulty... Otherwise it would be utterly pointless to add anything like that, since that could turn off a lot of people if done across the board...

With that update I heard you could just stand still and they usually miss.
Also it seems that zombies are easier, I can easily defeat 50+ zombies before I even get touched by one. I haven't noticed anything on skeletons
