The wiki said in all versions up to 1.6.2, ocelots will not spawn on peaceful difficulty; So if I put it on easy and head to the jungle, will they be there? Remember that this is xbox
The safest way is to go near the jungle on peaceful, make sure it's daylight. Save the game and exit and flip it into easy and wander around the edge of the jungle for a short time. It won't take long. Then, save the game and exit. Flip it back into peaceful and find and tame your ocelot.
They do not spawn on peaceful; but I've found that as long as you stay in the area of the jungle after you flip back into peaceful, the ocelots that spawned on easy won't immediately despawn (i.e. you have time to find and tame one or two without worrying about creepers and such sneaking up behind you). Of course, I think the funner way is to risk life and limb and fight off all the mobs while hunting through the dense underbrush in the jungle for your ocelot.
i however, haven't foudn any and tried laying a chicken trap for them next to a pool in a jungle biome.. checked night and day and still nothing. i've found one of the rare desert village sandstone fountains, but no ocelots

When reading anything in the Wiki, Xbox players have to consider that the Wiki is really written for the PC and that the Xbox Edition is in an earlier version of the game than where the PC is at currently.
Under Trivia the Wiki states: "In versions prior to 1.6.2, Ocelots don't spawn in Peaceful difficulty, you can still spawn them with a spawn egg in Creative Mode and you can also use Monster Spawners to spawn them using mods."
To make the game more interesting don't play on peaceful, even if you are new. I would recommend playing on easy mode and getting an ocelot (remember when you do find one; use raw fish and let him come to you).

The XBox is currently in a version to PC 1.2.3.
