I'm building a house deep underground (level 20ish) and seem to have found an area (otherwise known as my living room) where slimes spawn.. a lot! The house is between two ravines, so there isn't much option to change the original design I had and build in a different direction and I've already put a lot of work into it and don't want to start over. I'd prefer to find a way to stop the slimes from spawning. Light obviously does nothing to stop them. The rooms are seven blocks high and I don't want to make them smaller. Any suggestions, please?
You're getting slimes without even trying? Lucky! Grab a few slimeball stacks before you slab it all over.
I did think this too! I've seen so many topics asking how to find them and I just stumbled upon them without even trying! I've been playing on the xbox for a couple of months now and these are the first slimes I've actually come across, but I have never even tried to find them. I'll get a nice little stash of slimeballs for when I do need them. I'm guessing, though, that if I put slabs on the floor and then decide I want slimes, I would just need to remove the slabs and they would start spawning there again?
Yes, if you need more slimeballs, just take up some slabs and your slimes will come back.
I'd definitely rather have a slime farm than a living room, but I'm probably a bit too pragmatic that way. My IRL living room is mostly full of books, come to think of it. (hopefully not slimes, though, unless there's a leftover gone very bad in there somewhere)

Make the floor out of slabs, glass, or glow stone so they won't spawn.

This is the xbox version.
Oh, I didn't realise that. That is very helpful. Not sure that glowstone will go with the decor, but slabs could definitely work! Thank you.
