hello i have been playing on my server for a while and ive noticed im wasting a lot of wood because i have a lot of worthless stuff in my chests. is there a way to enter my inventory or chest contents online and it would tell me what i can craft from it? thanks
However, you can check the wiki. Under "Gameplay" is "Recipes" and there is lists that shows what you can craft, smelt, and brew and what inventory items you need to make stuff.
Another view of the crafting recipes all on one page here.
And, of course, all the recipes and their inventory requirements are already in crafting screen of the 360 version.
But as far as a "I've got _____, what can I make?" thing- don't know of any.
(Interesting idea, but probably more trouble than it's worth).
The crafting interface highlights what you can craft and dims what you can't with what you have in your inventory, so by filling your inventory right full and then scrolling through the crafting interface you could get q quick idea of what you might be able to craft with what you have on hand.
The other trick is to organize your chests in a standard way (for you) in each world and then place signs or item frames to identify what's in each chest. For example, my chest labeled "Farming" has all the items I could plant or use for breeding - wheat seeds, pumpkin seeds, melon seeds, saplings, sugar canes, cacti, wheat... My chest labeled "Food" has stuff I could eat - steak, pork chops, apples, bread. My cobblestone and dirt chest is just that...
