So I was using my cave spider xp farm that I just made, and all of a sudden I realize that it's been a few minutes with no spawns. Just to be sure I wait a few more minutes, and still no more spawns.
I know how the spawners work on pc and I was at a distance where the spiders should be spawning infinitely, this leads me to believe that the is an overall limit on the amount of mobs in minecraft.
Now what I want to know if anyone has figured it out is what that limit is, is it just for that type of mob or all hostile mobs in general, and about how often I should kill the spiders in my trap for max efficiency.

You just have to remember to kill them all after about fifteen minutes. Thanks for the help guys!
