My first two tamed cats were the black cat (Snowflake). Then I breed them and got another Black cat. I really like the cat noises and find myself taking a lot of breaks from building to fish more.
The first cat took a whole minecraft day and half the night to get but then they started coming around more often.
My first cat was a baby siamese and I got it rather quickly... but it helps that this is in my old, old world that has decided it should be about 50% jungle without the dense tree cover for the cats to hide. My second cat is a siamese and I accidentally bred it to the first cat (who had just grown up)... so, within about five minutes I went from catless to having an entire family of them. Ocelots are spawning in great abundance in this world right now and I can see them very easily. I'm soon going to have an real herd of them... as long as I can fish to keep up.

I want the siamese cat. But can't bring myself to kill my cats now and don't want to have a dozen cats. You can always hunt endermen with dogs so they can die honorable in battle but cats don't seem to take damage. They don't fall in ravines, nothing attacks them, and creepers won't get close enough to blow them up. I think they programed 9 lives into them. LOL

Does anything kill cats, besides humanoid bipeds?
I watched a Paul Soares Jr. video once where his cat drowned underneath his dock. That was on the PC though, so I'm not sure whether that would work on the Xbox.

I'll probably end up hiring a rogue mercenary to kill my cats. Just can't hurt my doggies or catties.
My one and only cat is a orange one. Its meows are awesome because when I was playing and it was meowing my wife that it was one of the girls upstairs. Twice

Someone told me that dogs and cats will fight but I have had them (dog now dead from enderman battle) close together and no fighting. They were walking around and sitting together. Anyone else hear that?

Maybe it depends on the personality of the cat and dog... even in the game. My old cat and dog (both now long deceased of old age) used to lie down together and the cat would wrap it's arms around the dogs neck like it was hugging it. The cat was great at killing gophers and the dog was a little on the lazy side, so it would constantly steal the cat's kills... then the cat would claw the dog in the face once or twice... and they'd go back to lying down and hugging each other. It was very entertaining to watch.
The first ones I tamed was from the tutorial world. They were both orange. I haven't been playing much because I've been to busy. I was looking at the features on peaceful creative. I didn't see any. Do you still have to be on easy or higher for ocelots to spawn?

hence my first kitty was called "Don Vito Corleone"
love the godfather
You have to make them have kittens named Michael, Sunny, and Fredo
The fishing rod can hook animals but seems to have no effect/can't hook cats. Also if you try to hook wolfs they will attack.
On my newest world I got 2 tabi's and breed them for a 3rd. That I just got today...:D
