myself and others have heard a strange new noise of short duration. maybe 3 seconds long. like a high pitched bell? Hard to describe the sound. even when nearby sometimes only one of us would hear it. Thought it may be a new enderman teleportation sound but it wasn't consistent enough for me to think that's it. heard it different parts of the map so it's not something static like the end portal. Anyone else hearing some new sound or was there some weird feedback in the party chat or something? It's not a sound that I have heard with feedback before and it sounded gamey.
I assuming that we are not having a group auditory hallucination or that we are all going deaf at the same time.
I will say this right now, since I haven't been on the server since the restart yet, that I'm not responsible for any weird audio feedback on the server Baldur...
Well, this time anyways.
I will try to get on tomorrow sometime to experience what has been added to the game. I actually like knowing these new sound effects have been added. Gives you more of a "Fear of the Unknown" feel to it now while exploring.
Are the noises meant to be heard in older worlds that were started before the update? Explored some caves on an old world with the volume cranked up and I'm not hearing anything (apart from the music).
This noises give me the chills. What is the point of them being so creepy?
They are creepy because they are alerting you to the fact that you're near a dark cave. Dark caves are creepy. Hence why the sounds for said caves are creepy. They're meant to add a tinge of scariness to the game when it comes to being in the dark.
I've been bugging 4J to add them since the game came out. I even told 4JSteve and he said he would look into it. I finally got my wish with TU12.
