I know you pain my ONLY true survival world (no creative no host privileges) was originally all grass forest and sand it was AWESOME!!! I even made a beach house (this was back after the 2nd update when I originally got the game) but NOW it is ALL snow and ice and there is no way I can cover the entire maps roof with glass even if I wanted to
My world suffered massive change ruining numerous creations I've made.
I haven't wanted to play the game since the update as I've put massive amounts of hours into one single world, the first world I loaded. All the work was done by myself to so a lot of work was done for one person and now I don't even want to look at the game anymore at the moment.
I was just wondering, is there any way I could delete the update and run the game without it? I would happily drop all the new stuff to get my old world back. Or I have an old save from last week on the cloud, if I loaded that up would it change the biomes in exactly the same way??
I liked the idea of the glass roof but so much of my world has been effected I'd have to cover about 80% plus of my map - that's just not possible for me
Cant you just use world edit sp to change biomes? Just wondering

It's highly unlikely that the current world generated by your original seed is completely covered in snow and ice. That is, although the cumulative effect of snow falling in different areas of the map has left snow on the ground and ice in your water bodies over the entire map, it is probably only snowing and cold enough to form ice in a smaller portion of the map. So, if you find out where it is no longer snowing and shovel the snow and break the ice, the snow and ice will not reform in those parts of your map. To find out what areas of the map are not currently snow biomes, I generate a new world with the same seed and compare. My oldest world currently has only a very small active snow biome and the rest is mostly jungle and extreme hills. So, by shoveling the snow that had fallen in a previous update, I've now recovered my beach resort and the grass is a bright jungle green... looks very tropical.
Sorry I don't know what this is, I'm a complete newbie to the boards. Everything I've learned about Minecraft was a massively slow process of teaching myself... so there may be things I haven't got a clue about?! How can you edit the world?
mike03878 is probably a PC player that just didn't realize your post was in the Xbox section. He's talking about one of the editing mods that are available for the PC edition.

Yeah my bad, I just clicked a topic I saw in main part of site. PC so much easier
Have a question for you guys. My city became a snow biome after the new update. Started snowing where it has never snowed before. I went in and turned off cloud rendering. will this make it stop snowing?

Unfortunately no, turning off the cloud rendering does not actually affect the weather in any way.
I wonder if it would be very hard for them to add the option to turn off snow and ice forming. That in combination with a mash-up pack where the grass texture of all different biomes is replaced with the brightest one would solve it for me. I can live with redoing all the minecart tracks and everything else. I would miss the snow golems though, but they could fix that by including snow balls in some chests so you could build one and have more snow through the snow golem.
Worth making a suggestion in the suggestions thread.

ok, thanks. I turned it off and haven't had snow for 4 or 5 minecraft days. I was hoping that had fixed it.
