Hi all, I apologise if this has been answered on here already, but after about 15mins of searching here and google I couldn't find an answer to this question.
Title Update 12 for Xbox raises the build height limit from 128 blocks to 256 blocks (which is awesome! ), but does this apply to all worlds or only worlds generated after the Title Update 12 patch?
I have a few buildings in my main city that got cut short due to the current build height that I was looking forward to expanding on them with the new height limit, but have been told by a couple of people the new height is only on newly generated worlds?
I'm pretty sure they are wrong, Seeing as you can fly as high as you like in the current worlds and the biomes only change by horizontal portions, not vertical portions, I don't see why the height limit wouldn't be increased for current worlds also.
Rip the roof up! Gonna have a growth spurt. I've got all my skyscrapers ready for the update. Three observatories I can finally finish..get ready. It's almost here!
Actually, on the Play XBLA live stream it appears there is a bug where you hear the sound of placing blocks past 128 but it doesn't place. No one knows, the girl is new to minecraft so she didn't realize her map said she wasn't at 200+ blocks, and was actually at 128.

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.

as implied by mr doody yes, its gonna work on all worlds. old and new. i wish they had of clarified in the change log, its been adressed more than a few times
if you look at it its obvious the build height is in some way already there. you can travel 500 blocks above bedrock. they just need to unlock that extra 126 for use.

You can also travel to -1026 and fall from the sky at 1026 and eventually get back to where you started to fall and repeat.
Want to know how to do this without dying?
1) Go to the end
2) Put a block over the void (any distance above)
3) Put a minecart/rail on the block
4) Break the block and jump in the minecart
5) Pull out a map and watch in amazement as how freaky this is
Warning; Getting out of the Minecart will cause you to die a freaky death.

yea most of us are hoping and it seems rather likely this was a previous version or just a basic demo version, just to show the general visual updates. new blocks, jungle biomes, etc. it seems very unlikely 4j would of let a huge bug like that slip through since thats one of the major aspects of the update.
did you.. or anyone else happen to notice if the jungle trees appeared to be higher than her block tower?

Her block tower was in the middle of a snow biome, but the jungle trees definitely LOOK higher
