As many of you may have heard of, Minecraft is coming to PS4, PS3, and Vita. I believe 4J is working on the Sony version as well considering they posted a link to Sony Streaming at gamescon. Anyway, if they are, Do you guys think that this is too much work for the company? They are now going to have to work on FIVE PLATFORMS!
I don't think that they can just copy and paste the code from a TU to another console, like the Xbox 360 and PS3, or the PS4 and the Xbox One. This is because they are different versions of the game. So does this mean that DLC development will be slow, and Title Updates are going to take a friggin 1/2 a year for each version?
If 4J Studios can copy and paste the code to the simlar console I think this is great for every one all around (Except Nintendo QQ). But if they can't this means that updates for the game are going to be slow. What has become of our usually 2-4 month TU will become 6-9 months... And that's not even working on other content, DLC for example.
I don't assume things sorry. Unless 4J comes right out and says "Yes. We're also working on the PS3, PS4, and PS Vita Minecraft." I'm not just going to assume they are like others.
That means the 360/PS3 versions will be alike.
The One/PS4 versions will be alike.
The Vita version may be like the 360/PS3 version since it also has 512meg ram… or not.
The amount of money this game represents means whatever teams needed to be assembled have been assembled, and they have been hard at work for some time, in secret. There is no way this game is just now going to get ported, and still come out at PS4 launch. Who cares what offices the Sony devs use? They're not going to interfere with or slow down development on the very different MS platforms.

Too early to tell or make speculation about.
From the way they were talking about it, it sounds like the PS3/PS4/Vita versions will be different from the Xbox versions.
I'll bet many people are assuming that the Sony versions will be "better" than the xbox versions. Maybe… maybe not.
As I said in another post: "Let the 'My dad can beat up your dad' games begin!

im with you. that way we avoid any whining about how one version is better or has something the other doesn't.
maybe both ms and sony will provide extra staff to help with the extra work load. but id expect since both the ps3 and xbox are running similar c++ and likewise with the ps4 and xbone will probably run similar versions as well it wont be nearly as difficult of a port as the pc javascript to c++ was.

They have two offices.
they retweeted Notch about the sony consoles, so I'm guessing they are.
Don't know, which is why we shouldn't rule them out. We also don't know when the PlayStation versions are coming out(likely 2014)
Ah ok, it's a launch title for the PS4 which means November.
It's coming to the Vita, and PS3 as well.
they tweeted the PlayStation Gamescom conference, and retweeted when Notch confirmed it,
So, Idk, that sounds like a yes to me.
