Hey.
I'm wondering how consistant other minecraft players are compared to myself and a few friends. Consistency as in how much one plays the game over a certain span of time. I suppose I could also say "when do you get bored of the game?", but what I'm asking is a little different than that.
Pretty much, how consistantly are you playing minecraft? I'm just really streaky. For example, I'll get right into minecraft and I'll be playing it every day. This goes on for a span of 3 weeks (roughly) and then I'm just all "minecrafted" out and I just can't stand practically everything about it. Mainly just the perpetual aspect of the game, but that damn music also gets super old and annoying. Gets me miffed every time. Anyways, I may not play for months before digging back in.
So pretty much, how streaky is everybody else? Do you play for months on end and never get bored? Or are you like myself and my friends who maybe get into the game for a good few weeks (maybe a new update has been released) before getting bored and moving on to something else? I understand that practically everyone is all excited for new updates (like myself) and when the updates are released, you go on a binge and just play the crap out of it. This is normal. But once everything has cooled down, and you're no longer playing for the sole reason of a new update, how consistant are you? Are there any players out there who have literally played almost daily for months and months?
I'm simply just interested in the playing habits of others.
Thanks!
You can turn the music off. And I've simply just been avoiding it until the update comes out. Considering the world I've been playing on has been explored, I see no point in building further when I'll just have to let it go for the new Jungle biome.

Yeah, I knew I forgot to mention something in my original post. I usually have it turned off, or at least all the way down to 5%, but lately I've been collecting music discs, and the music volume needs to be turned up in order to listen to those discs' lovely, magical, chimes. I'm just too lazy to go back and forth turning the music on and off in between listening to a newly acquired disc. I was just expressing my general annoyance towards the music in minecraft
And yeah I know what you mean. I've barely been playing it lately just because of the anticipation of the update. All the luck in getting your jungle biome. I needn't worry because I always start new worlds when updates are released
Yeah me too! And yes I wish there was some sort of other switch you can use between the ingame music and music from music discs. I've learned to just ignore it haha.
I used to play for hours because I had huge projects to work on, but now I play maybe 15-20 minutes a day because I have football and other games to play. I am like 90% done with my projects but I'm happy at where I'm at.

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
I usually have one or two games going at once other than Minecraft, then have Minecraft as my game to play when I don't feel like playing the other two at the time. Maybe 2 hours of MC every other day.

Hook my MP3 to the xbox and play my music from the MP3. Nothing like slaughtering ZOmbies and creepers to some deathmetal
Right after every update I play alot lol but usualy I get bored after I start a new survival mode, build a few cool structures, have stacks of about every resource and kill the end dragon. Been holding off as well for the update but i've been real antsy to get back into it, I'm going to try to theme my next world and have alot of build ideas for it.
I usually play it somewhere between 30-90 minutes a day on my own with much more varying times when hosting my maps.
I then switch to Crackdown or Defense Grid when I become bored. Gotta 100% dem gamez. (Don't do that, Phoenix, it's weird.)
I alternate between in-game music and one of my three setlists on YouTube (Rock Band 1 songs, RB 2 songs, and MLP music). It usually depends on what I'm doing and if I need to be aware of my surroundings.
Not sure yet. Finally tried the game about two months ago now at most. Still in my 'just discovered this awesome game' binge, but ended up having to take a break because I want the update so bad.

Yes, a toggle option for turning off in-game music without having to search within the depths of the menu would be great. Little things that go a long way.

Ah, yeah I know the feeling. It's great. I don't think I've been in a recently discovered binge since discovering the TV series Game of Thrones. After motoring through all the seasons the feeling is just crap. But yeah, definitely not playing minecraft much until that update is released.
Some interesting insights and consistencies from everyone.
I used to play it a lot with my friends when it first came out, now I barely play it unless I feel like making a simple redstone device. Xbox can't really handle anything too hardcore....
A normal 3x3 door for me takes 10 seconds to open where it should take 3.
I got the game in june and have not got bored. I slowed down a little for like two day but then I got some ideas. I play when I can which is mostly at night when others are asleep. I played last night from 1 to 3 am and for a hour today to dye my sheep. I'll play tonight to complete a building.
