For the first, second, and third, what issues are going to be fixed? I am not aware of what is bugged. For the minecart one, will they become slower/faster and/or will it impact the speed increase from powered rails?

There were just a few bugs of how they worked, nothing much.
And minecarts would run a tad bit too fast.

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
Minecarts were too fast? Intersting. That would explain some odd glitches people had with my achievement rail (back before that file got corrupted and I deleted it).
You can scour the "bug list" thread to find the answers to the first three. It had something to do with things like doors working / not working when X option was checked, and not being able to eat when N option was checked, etc. I don't know the specifics since it never really affected me.
I'd be a little sad when minecarts slow down. I liked zipping across the whole map in a relatively short time.
Can horses be used in the nether between linked-portal points for fast overworld traversal? I guarantee you minecarts would be faster for that if horses can only be in the overworld.
How do you guys know they're slowing Minecarts down? All it says is "Fix to make Minecarts run at the correct speed."
That could mean they weren't going fast enough when they should have been. It doesn't necessarily mean they're slowing them down.

Even so, I don't understand why people are complaining. Instead of it taking you 5 seconds to get somewhere, it's going to take you 10 seconds. Really not that big of a deal in my opinion.
And, in your example, if you're taking 40 seconds to get across your mining operation on an ever-lengthening rail line, you're now going to take 1 minute, 20 seconds. That's going to add up in a hurry. Yes, if they reduce speed by half, I will be complaining bitterly. I've come to rely on the present speed. No one likes to have the rug pulled out from under them.
yea, I would say that is the biggest advantage of the xbox minecraft; the speed actually lets you get around via minecraft in a quick-ish fashion.
If you put in all the time and effort into building a rail network, I don't see why it should force you to slow down. That is just making the game more tedious for the sake of making it more tedious.
My only guess is the change was needed for something 4J wishes to add in the future to run more smoothly.

Or perhaps it was just part of the translated Java and they threw it in there because "the PC has it".
Who knows? Who cares?
I was actually planning on building a rail network in the Nether leading to strategically placed portals. Since chunks unload (and therefore, entity decay is paused) when traveling in a different dimension, it's a good way to get back to your stuff if you accidently die far from home.
This also has the added benefit of cutting travel-time down by two-thirds, or more.

That's exactly how I use the nether--transportation between key points in my overworld at 3X speed. I've come to rely heavily on rail lines to move about quickly, and I would absolutely hate to see my speed of travel get nerfed.

I don't think the minecart fix will hurt my station then. The powered tracks are spaced a little too close as it is.

Fastest mode in MCXBLA.
We'll get horses eventually, I'm sure.
I want horses, anvils, enderchests and hoppers sooooooo bad
