Hi, I'm qiite and I just joined this website because I have had many questions and figured that joining a community would be helpful. I have played mc on Xbox for around 4 months and have gotten into many technical concepts. I have figured out how to link nether portals by using the 1:3 block concept. This got me to thinking, if the PC works with a 1:8 block difference and we work with a 1:3, are chunks sized differently? I haven't found many web pages concerning the topic but I was wandering if any of you were familiar with it. My questions follow -
-How large are the chunks, width and height?
-Are they the same size as those on the PC?
-If chunk mechanics work like the PC, are there spawn chunks as well?
-Lastly, if spawn chunks exist on mcx360, how large is the area?
Thanks to those that can help, it is really appreciated.
(Sorry for the repost, I guess I posted this in the wrong area initially).
As for them loading the same as the pc, no. The xbox actually loads each chunk into memory when you move to that chunk, making things generate quickly when you return to that area in that same session.
Not sure what you mean by spawn chunks though....O_o
That is about as much as I know beyond the one I am unsure of... Many of this has been discused on here, so don't quote me on any of it, but it is what quite a bit of the community has found..

Spawn Chunk? Do You Mean The Chunk We Spawn In?..If So Think Its A 8X8 So Its A 16 Block Square, I Could Be Wrong On Size But If Its The Spawn Chunk You Would Like To Measure One Way Other Then Finding It In The Forums Is Placing Lava Around The Chunk Then Marking It, Sijce We Cant Place Lava At Spawn It Will Give You A Message Were Any Player Has A Chance To Spawn. ...Im Not Sure What You Meant By Spawn Chunk, So Forgive Me If You Knew This Already
-How large are the chunks, width and height?
Chunks are the entire height, 16x16.
-Are they the same size as those on the PC?
Yes.
-If chunk mechanics work like the PC, are there spawn chunks as well?
Yes there are.
-Lastly, if spawn chunks exist on mcx360, how large is the area? It encompasses 4 chunks, or 32x32. There is also protection from certain things an extra 2 blocks in each direction (so 34x34) from things like lava. That is also how I deduced this information. Try to drop lava, doesn't work = protected. The 32x32 size comes from a test I did a long time ago when I continually killed myself without a spawn point.
The test was in preparation of building a death spawn. Lava cascading down all sides, with obsidian scattered on the bottom, like I would imagine a volatile volcano would be. I actually had my own observatory in the wall as well. MUAHAHAHAHA! This was also pre-creative, so it was just me and a buddy digging all the way down to bedrock.
