So how many world wonders have you built? The first seven are the seven wonders of the ancient world. There are dozens of world wonders in different list that include more modern builds but there are too many to list for a poll. Some of the modern wonders are the Empire State building (USA), Three Gorges Dam(China), the Eiffel Tower(France), and Angkor Wat (Cambodia).
To vote for a wonder you have built it doesn't have to be an exact replica. For example I tried building the Colossus at Rhodes but the minecraft is too blocky so I built a 60 block high statue of Steve as a port entrance. But I count that as a vote for the world wonder.
If you built something from the modern era that is not listed please tells us what you built and tell us about it. I have built the great pyramid at gaza, colossus at Rhodes, and a couple of modern wonders. I have built a lighthouse but it wasn't on the scale of me calling it a world wonder so I didn't count that one.
My most time consuming and difficult wonder was the pyramid made out of obsidian. 54 x 54 base all done in survival. That was back in the day before enchantments etc.
There is something vaguely disturbing about the idea of a 60-block-high statue of Steve.
On second thought, skip "vaguely"; this will probably haunt my nightmares.
I'm a newbie; I haven't built any of the wonders yet. If we had diagonal slabs, I'd do the Great Pyramid, but I wouldn't want to do it without its casing stones. The light house might be good; it was square, wasn't it? Big square tower, bunch of flaming Netherrack on the top ... that has some possibilities. After I figure out why mobs are spawning where they shouldn't outside my slime farm.

I experimented with some different techniques for the pyramid: stairs, 2 blocks up 2 blocks across, etc. I found that I liked the look of just using the single blocks and it looks good from a distance too. The pyramid took about 8000 blocks of obsidian. about 7,500 blocks I poured lava into forms and about 500 blocks were placed obsidian blocks.
If you are having nightmares about a 60 block Steve avatar statue then you must be having some awesome nightmares.
I prefer making my own wonders in the world of steve... That way if feels like it belongs... After all why would something in our world hold significance to another world where aliens roam? They after all didn't build them, hence having their own set within the world of minecraft. I have yet to build anything grandiose, but have a lava storage work in progress that may come close.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Built a pyramid. Not sure about it being THE great pyramid, but its a pyramid. I'm especially proud of my 2x2 jeb door entrance that maintains the slope of the pyramid.
Started the Lighthouse of Alexandria in several worlds, but never finished it up. Close approximation is being created from my mob spawner in my current world.
The rest of the wonders? Uhh, no. Too much work/not enough time!
Not really "wonders" but I've built Hatteras and Bodie Island lighthouses from the modern era, just because I've grown up around those two. Never got the flashing sequence quite right on either of them.

Hey I live in coastal NC too. And have been to those light houses.

The golden age: it's not the game, it's you ⋆ Why Minecraft should not be harder ⋆ Spelling hints
