Seriously what is up with the no mods? What I have herd is that in Microsofts eyes any mods are cheating but is that true a simple mod like the timber mod is cheating? I dont get it. My friends and I want to build a city in super flat with subways ( if you want to help Gt is EpikMark0123) and its annoying building a frame of dirt over the orriginal. But seriously what would you do to get mods.
What are you going on about. This isn't GTA I , II , III, IV , or GTA V. And how would that mod help ya do your subway thing? Lots of relativly flat seeds around. May I suggest the Xbox360 seed section. I'm sure you can find your perfect seed. Welcome to the forums again.
your not talking mods actually. your talking about how superflat worlds on the pc have the ability to adjust each level. and its not that mods are cheating in anyone's eyes, except for those like aim bot. its that a mod is created by a third party individual with no rights to the game/ hardware and they require you to alter your Xbox in some way. and that means you are going against the terms of agreement.
now whatever 4j adds in dlc or updates that acts like a mod would still not be a mod. since the definition of a mod and an update are in no way linked. its all about rights and terms of use.
for the pc version technically every texture pack is a mod. we are getting texture packs so we will have what you might consider a mod. now on the other hand. mojang and 4j do not want to just rip off mods from the pc. since they fully respect the modders. so its a delicate balance of wanting to give people what they want and not step on the toes of the modders.
but 4j has said they would like to add some "mod" like content. i think the mash-up packs are proof of a small step forward. how much they will alter the game is unknown.
I don't think it's that Microsoft view modding as cheating. It's more likely that they don't want unauthorized programmers writing programs for use on their system... possibly making the system vulnerable to other sorts of hacks.
