At my local Wal Mart, they now have a Minecraft edition for the Xbox 360. I've always wanted this version, but I could never get it, because I do not have XBox Live. I have a question about something; this game, is it like every other game in cases(such as FarCry 3, Skyrim, things like that), and comes in a DVD where you can start playing right away, or do you need to have internet to play it still?
Internet is only needed for multiplayer and updating the game.

If your xbox is hooked up to the internet, you can get updates, but cannot play online with other people, or buy dlc, xbox live gold is required for that, so go ahead and get the game, as long as you have internet, you should be fine in terms of playing,

Alright, thank you everyone. It's just that I don't have Live at all, and I don't plan on getting it anytime soon, so I'd much rather not waste money if it was required just to play it.

No, you only need gold to play online, to have regular live it's FREE!!!!!!!
