i just witnessed something really strange, i dont know if it was caused by lagg or what, i was just exploring my world for the first time and i watched as a zombie spawner dungeon filled with sand one by one, the sand started filling from the top so it would fall to the bottom filling the whole dungeon, can someone check this out, the seed is : 68513344

Not odd at all actually. It's one of the most common things in Minecraft. Sand is one of the blocks effected by gravity. Something caused a block update which would have caused the sand to fall.
Surface dungeons are neither more nor less common in deserts than they are in other biomes. They're just easier to find in deserts because a collapsing sand floor is a pretty good hint. I've encountered surface dungeons in almost all biomes so far, maybe with the exception of ocean and mushroom biomes.
