I searched the wiki and the forum, but found no answer. Does anybody know the dimensions of The End? Is it 862x862 as the Overworld is? Is it 287x287 like the Nether? Besides wanting an idea to know the best way to go about building an Ender Pearl farm, I also have a loose idea for an End City that might not work if The End is too small.
I tried building off the island in a single direction once. I didn't end up going that far. You can fly far, but I don't think you can build very wide.

I want to say 287 x 287 buildable. +/-144 is your magic number X/Z. Be very careful when you get close-when you crouch and place that last block, it will appear then disappear - meaning you will step onto it then fall through it. Easiest workaround is to build 2-wide when you get to around +/-140, and place the block away from you first.
Aim for stopping around y 4. You will fall out of the world if you try to go all the way down to Y 0.
I went to the corner of the map furthest from the floating island. Come in a 2-3 blocks each way before starting your farm, I feel this allows you some flexibility to change things as you go. Then I built a platform and looked back to the island. If you see endermen, you will need to flood, TNT, light, or half-slab the areas you see them spawining. If you don't see any endermen on the island, you're off to a good start. 3 enderman farms to date, and 1 of them I got away without doing any flooding on the island.

I can confirm the torches being on that server. I'm pretty sure the world is nearly out of coal due to that.
That was about 4-5 stacks worth of coal.
