Just wondering if it is possible for players in a single split-screen game to have different difficulty settings? I play a Survival Mode game that my wife is thinking of joining, but she's not good with defending herself against the mobs. So I thought, when she does join the game (once I have a second Xbox controller), it would be great if I could set her difficulty to "Peaceful" while still leaving mine on "Easy". Is that possible?

Hi, I'm Augur and I'm from New Zealand (NZ). Just call me "Augur". I'm an older person playing Minecraft Xbox 360 Legacy Console Edition without Xbox Gold (no online gaming, sorry), so please don't hate on the old. 😄
I thought that might be the case. Thanks for the replies. I've been making a walled city in my Survival world, with plenty of lighting in it, so that mobs don't spawn within the city limits. That way my wife can peaceably build using the resources I gather for her.

As you've already concluded, it's not possible. It's not the difficult to give her a safe area (well lit) and protect her while you fight mobs. You can also work to equiip her with protection enchanted diamond armor, which will practically make her invincible. Making some really efficient mob traps in the area near where she is working also helps to reduce the numbers of mobs spawning out of the trap.
You could turn host privileges on and have her use the host controller. That way you could set her to be invincible while you fight mobs. Doing this will however remove the ability to get achievements or set leaderboard stats on that world.
