Does anyone know if the Xbox One will have the same skin system as the 360 version? I've been thinking about getting a skin pack, but I'm not sure if it would be worth the investment if I can't keep my skins.
I would be willing to bet that you will have to buy everything over again for Xbox One. That includes the game [obviously] as well as any skin packs. Whenever texture packs come out will be same deal I would expect.
Microsoft has pretty much flat out said Xbox 360 and Xbox One are two completely separate islands. The only commonality between them is the Xbox Live service. Games, even arcade games, are completely separate.
I vote we get a skin editor for Xbox One. I barely play the Xbox version anyhow, partly from boredom. No customization of skins, no custom textures, no mod- wait, there actually are a few mods... but still no clue how to get them.

There will never be aim editors because the game is rated E 10+. People will just make skins that have nudity or blood and that would force 4J to change the ESRB rating which theyalready said they won't.Skin editors* sorry
Google "minecraft 360 worlds to xbox one".
Most of the links say you won't be able to, but there's a few that reference the tweet that says 'they're looking into it'. Nothing is written in stone yet. Heck, the xbox one is still 4 more months away, and MC One will probably be a lot further than that (it's not coming out the day the One launches, right?), so all of this is a 'cart before the horse' thinking.
But the question is, why would you want to? (Yes, I know to move your builds over you've spent a lot of time on). But your 360 isn't going away is it? And just because you can move the world over does not mean that your 360 world will expand to the new size.
I don't think you guys realize what the One (version) is going to do to MC.
The One will have 16 times the memory, many more times the graphics capability, and many more times the processing power of the 360.
It will be able to run the current MC360 version at idle!
All of a sudden 4J/Mojang/Notch will have a machine that can run the MC they would like to instead of the one they have to, a machine that doesn't hold them back. They'll know that everyone has the same ram, graphics, processing power, kinect (voice commands!), etc. HD graphics and larger worlds is just the very beginning. MC can finally grow up- exponentially. (About time!)
(Remember the PC version is hampered because it will always have to be able to run within the minimum specs- and the One is far beyond those.)
A year (or two) from now MC One will blow your mind at what you will be able to do, and leave the 360 (and the PC) in the dust.
When the One version comes out, start a new world and get the new skins. You will want to eventually anyway….

Oh well. Hopefully we will get custom skin editors so I can remake my PC skin.
Exactly.
Most of the skin packs also have "trial" versions which give you a bunch of free skins as well FWIW.
I've heard that Mojang and MS are discussing this, so don't be surprised if they come back and tell us that we can transfer our worlds to the XB1.

The skins are pretty good but you should buy the packs
