So recently, with all this hype over the next update, I wondered in fact how far we have come from the original release of Minecraft xbox 360 edition of last year. Really I just wanted to experience the first version again and to compare it to the current version. Turns out it was easier than I expected, you can simply delete the minecraft update info in your minecraft folder and it will take you back in time to the original version and all. I loaded the tutorial map and was astonished by the simplicity we so desperately had to have back then. However there was o e bug and that being the animal textures failed to load. But with this original tutorial now stored on my xbox I updated to the current version and low and behold the first tutorial map followed with it. Just a cool little time killer you could experiment with, maybe reliving those awesome seeds you poured hours and hours into once again. So far as I have tried it does not corrupt your copy of the game, and maybe you can have the same feeling you did as when you loaded your first map of the MC xbox 360!
Odd, it spits me back in TU6 when I try that...and I bought it on day 1.
And it will corrupt newer worlds if you're not careful.
Worlds with items past the current version will force the world to be regenerated with what seems to always be the same seed.
(Tested with both regular and superflat going from TU6 to TU11.)
Hmm, I didn't get into MCX360 until the disc edition, so I don't think I can pull this trick. ;-) Anyway, does anybody have any photos or videos of the early tutorial worlds? I've been curious about those for a while now . . .

I'm sure you can look on youtube, you should find something and welcome to minecraft, and the forums. On topic, I remember those simple worlds and lack of features but yet I could spend hours playing without running out of stuff to do. I would love to try and get those worlds back but I deleted my account that had the beta worlds. I'm on the wall about clearing the system cache, or deleting the update info. I'd hate to mess something up.

If you have a usb or other storage device you could simply copy the maps you wanted to save onto it, then go from there. Do not try and play recent maps or they will corrupt(made my xbox freeze a number of times). And only deleting the update info obviously will only delete past updates rather than your copy of the game(Im sure you knew that)
Hmmm...... did you remember the world in the TU5, the castle, the minecarts, the farm so far away.
Anyone remember all that?
I actually have each tutorial world saved... the 1.7.3 one, the 1.8.2 one and the current one... 1.7.3 is when I pretty much started... If I wanted I could go back and play on those worlds. Nice to have backups...:D
as far as those moments are concerned, I have that with every world I build when I am inspired or even just a simple project within those worlds...lol

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
lol, not much to see with the 1.7.3 one as that one I modified this and that and added a few other things...>< Although the learning area is still there... somewhat intact. Added a few things to it as well a minecart bridge styled similar to madnes64 running through one side of the tutorial area...>< I really didn't do a whole lot to them, just minor things as I mearly checked some out to find this and that; the secrets. Some of which I could not find, as they did not exist quite in the same spot.
As for the 1.8.2 one it I hardly touched, since by then I was more interested in touching up Arcavia and adding to it. There are technically only 3... Well the ones I have. If there was a different one before 1.7.3, I would not know since I didn't have the game then or even knew about it. I only started knowing about it at the end of summer...>< and got it the day in which the SOA skin pack expired... So I never had a chance in getting that one.
Overall though My main excitement is with my projects and my primary worlds. Now only if I can copy something in one world to bring it over into another...lol So many worlds with mini-projects that seem to be on going... They really do need something official to mix n match pieces in worlds, an editor of sorts... Maybe with a selection thingy to select area and copy to a file that can hold up to a certain amount of schematics per say...
Anyway... Think I am getting carried away in my own thought...><

I've heard hints of adding a system to backdate specific worlds to certain versions... and I personally have been EXTREMELY nostalgic for that first day of MCX360, and the terrain generation, non-stackable, no pull-back bows, whew, good times. I regret my excitement for the anticipation of 1.8.2... I never knew how much I would miss it. Unfortunately, my biggest world made in 1.6 got deleted in the glitch that caused worlds to be deleted when renamed. UGH!!! >
